Leorio's ability is not to emit his punches. Like Ging guessed, his ability is meant to inspect patients without any intrusion to their bodies, and sometimes even operate on them. The hatsu essentially emits nen back and forth through objects, that can be a person, or a wall or table or ground. The punch is just one application of it. In a way, it's like using a scalpel to stab someone: yes, the scalpel can be used as a weapon, with varying degrees of success, but it's not made with that purpose in mind, and thus it clearly will never perform as well as a knife meant for combat.

All Analysis and all Everything see to mysteriously end with his Death, even though he has a whole Live after that! Basically coming out of nowhere to undo the most important death of the arc only after all the important narrative consequences, which feels like a cop out. Is there a single good narrative reason for kite to come back? Imagine if Ace came back after marineford.

@@researchert3513 nah dude. There's a clear difference. The Pirate boxer's punch was directly teleported. while Leorio's remote punch is a bit more complex. Leorio throws a punch then the nen imitates the punch. So his arm doesn't go through a portal, rather his nen created a new arm similar to Leorio's arm.

EMISSION is the easiest to notice, as it is heavily categorized, more so than all other Types, so whetever you wanna judge someones Ability or make youre own (which youre encouraged to do, cause it's Fun), always remember the 5 things most associated with Emission: -Projectiles -Holograms (if not solid) and Nen-Beasts (if solid or maybe nt) -Telepathy -All sorts of Signal-Sending and -Receiving -Teleportation

The "string" on Pokkle's "bow" could also be transmutation. If you look closely, his fingers actually get pulled back along with the string. So there's some actual elasticity there... like a sorta... bungee...

What I think is that a nen beast is a combination of emitter/transmitter/manipulation. The transmitter part is only to give it a shape/body such as , raizors 11 devils, that guy with the gorillas and knuckles APR at the end of the day is just giving it a simple shape, they’re still 40% capable of using transmitter technique is not as complex as lightning or hisoka bungee gum. Its an emitter technique because the beast is made out of nen and has to exist outside the users body for a long period of time, you can even see when raizor disbands the 11 devils the aura returns to him and in morals fight with cheetu he debates about disbanding smoke ninjas because he wouldnt know if the aura would return to him in that field they were fighting in. I know moral is an manipulator but he uses emission to make a core for the smoke ninja and manipulates the smoke around it, different from a nen beast that is all nen but the concept still applies. Lastly a manipulation technique because you have to control the beast themselves.

@Jon S I'm pretty sure kurapika said that the difference is that a conjured object or beast is visible to users and non users of nen (that means the aura fully became something else) but an emitted nen beast is not visible to non users of nen which means it's still pure arue. I'm sorry but I can't remember which chapter it was.

Emittion is definitely my favorite Nen affinity with it being so close Manipulation and especially Enhancement you would have the potential to be EXTREMELY dangerous in combat and otherwise considering Emittion alone gives you access to some pretty broken abilities from Kamehamehas and Destructo Discs to badass Nen Beasts

If I was an Emitter I think I would either use my combination of Enhancement and Manipulation to control object and enhance their power. Either that or use manipulation and enhancement to increase and alter the pain of an opponent. To incorporate emission I would use nen projectiles as an activation requirement in both cases.

Not every ability that "forces" something requires Manipulation. For example we've seen many abilities that force a target into Zetsu or drain aura, but they don't require Manipulation. Otherwise Kurapika would have used Emperor Time with Chain Jail or Steal Chain, or made it a Limitation in those chains. Also personally I split aura constructs into three categories: Nen beasts, Nen dolls, and transmuted constructs. Nen beasts: Creatures that are created either with Emission or Conjuration. Nen beasts can have realistic facial features such as mouths and eyes. But most importantly they always have some degree of sentience. Beasts have the capacity to perform actions such as movement and speech by themselves, and even have preferences. Manipulation is not required for the beasts to perform actions, but it does increase the ability's versatility. Nen beasts often have a shroud of aura around their bodies. Examples are Shizuku's Blinky, Indoor Fish, and Kite's clown. Nen dolls: Created with either Emission or Conjuration, always require Manipulation to perform their actions, and are also called Nen puppets. While Nen dolls such as Dr. Blythe can have realistic facial features, they never have sentience or preferences. Nen dolls include living beings conjured with Nen, such as the Greed Island NPCs and Cookie-chan. They can be created by surrounding emitted aura with pre-existing substances such as balloons or smoke. Other examples of dolls are Pitou's puppets, Morel's rabbits and Smoke Troopers, and Silent Majority. I don't think many people pay attention to Body and Soul's aura beams. Those are beams of phasing aura that pierce through the target's soul, and recieve the answer once the beam leaves the target's body.

Regarding Pockles abilities, I think his ability was called seven colored arrows or something like that. The more important thing is that it’s supposed to be inspired by the rainbow. Which implies that there’s six other different aura abilities that can be used through the ability.

While probably a bit similar to Leorio's transmitted punch, there is also the whole, Teleported fist of the one boxing member. If through emission you can specialize in teleportation, then yes it is very very versatile.

There was actually a guy on Razor's team who was a boxer before the dodge ball game started that had a remote punch ability, so it was already shown an emitter could teleport his fist and punch, Leorio was not the first in the series to do this, a random fighter did it in Greed Island so it can be assumed this is a basic emitter ability.

You made a little mistake. Transmuters cannot separate their aura from their body. Doing so requires the use of emission. Any time the aura is full not connected to the user, emission is being used even if it's not explicitly stated.

Emission is an interesting Hatsu affinity and can do way more than just Dbz style Ki blasts. However i wonder how few Emitted auras display abilities of Transmutation (Franklin's taking properties of bullets) and Conjuration (Lereo's remote Punch that converts Aura into an actual physical long arm and Nen Beasts of characters like Razor, Sachimono, and Knuckle).

If I was an emitter I would focus on a variety of nen blasts and use Trsumtaion to give them elemental effects Enhancement to boost teammates manipulation to control someone by hitting them with a nen bullet

If you want both pure on demand elemental effects and long range, it's better to be an Enhancer or Specialist. You could also be a Transmuter or Conjurer and make use of long range by employing Conjuration instead of Emission to detach your aura, although this focuses more on imitation & planning instead of simple pew pew shoot shoot. Zeno is a great Transmuter who makes his aura convincingly imitate a living dragon. But if you want environmental elemental effects instead of pure on demand, then it's better to be an Emitter or Manipulator.

It’s because the aura is actually separated from the user. Like when Razor calls his nen beast back in the anime it’s stated that he’s at full power. Conjurers create actual objects out of nen. APR is Knuckle aura separated and attached to another user. Emitter separate their aura Conjurers create objects.

I'm pretty sure emitters could possibly fly if the emit their aura away from their body in a certain direction. Think of how Goku user his Kamehameha to propel himself. But we saw the wheel chair dude in Heaven Arena move around doing his Aura Blast. So It could be possible to fly/jump crazy far with emission. Flying would involve keeping a constant output of aura to keep you elevated but would probably drain you quick if you weren't naturally gifted. I also think it could be used to help strikes become faster if you focus them behind the limbs of your body and shoot them forward. It does sound like a more technical use or Emission along side teleporting

Emission allows Illusion-Magic! If you didnt knew: you can easily make the same that Kortopi and Bacho both did to have much more Versatility. Emission allows for Holograms and Nen-Beasts. Both. So just make a Hatsu that skips the Image-Training in exchange for a Prize.

In a way yes. As stated by Ging on the manga, if you have a blood clot, emission could be used in a certain way to get rid of it. Or a more subtle version of en that's more like echo location to find things wrong with the body. Flat out healing is more enhancement (enhancing the body's regenerative ability) or specialist (use your imagination). Conjuration also works (see Jojo part 5) though making body parts is complex as stated by Hisoka.

Hey I have a request... I was thinking of an ability to use if I was in the hunter world and I came up with one but I'm not sure what category it would fall under or if it's even possible. It would revolve around a mix of the abilities reaper in overwatch uses where he can fade between two plains of existence (wraith) and Obito in Naruto where he can make his body dissapear into a pocket dimension (kamui). it's similar to turning invisible but my physical body would disappear as-well so objects and attacks would fly through me like a ghost. my guess it would fall under manipulator or transmuter because I would be manipulating myself on the cellular level like pouf or because I was transmuting a vale of nothingness/a void around my body to dissapear... if you have any opinions or outtakes pls reply :)

9:02 I would not count that as a Nen beast example, and emitters don’t need conjuration to summon nen beast, because nen beast are purely made out of their nen, and not physically conjured. This is why nen beast don’t tend to be used for attacks, rather they tend to be purely holders of conditions and restrictions in it of themselves, to increase the efficiency of the emitters hatsu(or any other nen type that would want to *emit* a nen beast, with the proper work put into it.). having a nen beast almost instantly comes with the “disadvantages” of sometimes giving away the nature of the ability to a careful observer, or simply giving away to the enemy that a nen user is attacking, not to mention they tend to not be under the control of the user very much. (Hence why manipulation usually has very little involvement with nen beast, but of course it depends on the restrictions and conditions of it, Razor’s nen beast seemingly being heavily restricted to only a dodge ball game, and maybe even restricted to be played on greed island, plus not even capable of being directly controlled by razor other then the pre-set mild-suggestion that come with the rules and tactics razor must have already known/set on them ) Sorry if im repeating my self, but to conclude- A nen beast for me could be described as the emitted manifestation of the nen user’s heavy restrictions and conditions towards their desired hatsu, Kite, Bisky, Kurapika’s dolphin, Nean Nostrade, all examples of nen beast that impose many more restrictions for the sake of increasing the overall performance of their hatsu.(hatsus which don’t need nen beast, but benefit for the the potency/effectiveness trade off)
