First of all let me welcome you to Nepal & welcome to Kathmandu, The Land of Gods. When foreigner ask why we put tika people can't answer properly so let me explain. Tika is believed to prevent the loss of “energy”, the red 'tika' between the eyebrows is said to retain energy in the human body and control the various levels of concentration. Tika is always put in forehead in middle of eyebrows. There are 7 chakras in human body. sixth one is called ajna chakra or the third eye or pineal gland which is located in forehead in between eyebrows. By putting tika in middle we are putting pressure in third eye. if i start explaining third eye i have to take online class. 😅😅😅You can learn more about chakra in google. About pigeon i don't know why people feed pigeon in other country's but in Hinduism to please planet Jupiter. Jupiter is teacher of all god "देवगुरु = devguru".

Wow !! Nice 👍 Just a little info: Nepal has a little different system than the rest of the world in terms of food habit !! People wake up early and eat things like what you showed here - channa (black chickpea), aloo, boiled eggs, halwa puri, jeri, puri channa, sel roti etc .. but then they eat a very early lunch as well … like by 8/9 am … the full Nepali Daal-Bhat set is actually an early lunch .. and it’s heavy lunch … that’s probably why there’s not a lot for breakfast items - just quick bites that goes with tea. But then they eat khaja during the usual lunch time - that’s when they eat momo’s, chowmin, chiura (beaten rice) with all kinds of curry or meat etc … then theres chiya time in the evenings like 4/5 pm - when they eat snacks with tea !! Snacks could be anything from popcorn to samosas .. or all of the above etc etc … then of course there’s dinner … which could be something as simple as the Daal- bhat or roti (bread) tarkari (curry) … dhido , momo’s again coz why not !! Shows how much Nepalese love their momo’s … etc !! To all kinds of meat items !! Nepal have heavy influence on food culture from India and China - but, there are many local cultures that have their own typical Nepali dish - e.g all the Newari food.. along with Thakali food .. tharu food .. etc Nepal is so diverse despite being such a small country !! Have a nice stay!!

It is so familiar to see the way in which you explore. If or when you leave Kathmandu and venture into the mountains, then foods change again to more hot foods; soups and alike. I have many beautiful friends from all cultures. I am so greatfull that places like this still exist… I never want the World to become one culture, one language just for the sake of easy or laziness. I am writing to you because I saw you talking about “Puri” and I immediately returned to East coast India where you can walk out miles into where the low tides are and soooooooh many persons are selling Puri. In particular “Panni-Puri.” A good friend who is a “foodie” wrote to me to give you a watch as she explained you have an appearance of a “good tongue” (her words) for explaining foods. I very enjoyed you Chinese/Italian street foods and your Turkish reviews. Good on you, young man… G’Day from Australia, mate!

Hi Luke. One small correction about Hinduism. In Vedic texts, it is mentioned that there are primarily ’33 Koti’ Gods. Koti has 2 meanings - Supreme and crore. While the texts might have meant 33 Supreme Gods (including elements of nature and the abstract aspects of the self), they have been lost in translation and many since then believe that Hinduism has 33 crore Gods.

@alongtheuniverse8725 Жыл бұрын
***please read it and avoid confusion. These 33 koti aka 33 types of Gods are demigods or Devtas. Mainly God is one and called Param Atma or Param Iswar or Param Brahman .... Param Brahman has three expressions, Brahma( Creator), Sri Sri Vishnu ( Protector and he runs the creation) and Sri Sri Maheshwar ( Destroyer of creation to start a new one)... And mother Durga, MA Kali all are representation of Shakti aka energy. We mainly pray to God in various forms, not demigods who work under God and are of 33 types. We choose one form of Bhagawan whom we love and make him/ her our Ishta dev or Ishta devi. This helps amateur religious folk to concentrate and progress with devotion even more, rather the unimaginable vast existence of God. Also Sri Krishna, Sri Ram Chandra are avatars of God which means they are supreme soul in human body , who came to teach dharma (duties of soul) to us. I hope you got it.

Regarding 33 million Hindu Gods!! 😅 just remember, whoever says that, that person has no clue what’s “Hinduism or the Sanatan Dharma” is all about !! It’s a quick assessment tool to know weather the person actually understands the religion or blindly following it .. coz, Sanatan dharma is not meant to follow certain rules or belief system blindly … one is supposed to question everything that one hears … and understand it before following it !! So, No, there are 33 types of Gods or rather say “energies” that you can connect to !! 33 types is not 33 millions😊 Nepal is said to have 3 religions: Buddhism, Hinduism and tourism !! Thanks to creators like you who is helping in promoting Nepal to the world !! Hope to see more vlogs from Nepal !! Enjoy your stay !! Thanks 🙏

Nice video Luke and loved the hospitality of Nepalese people but 1 thing I want to clarify here is there are not 33 million gods or as such but maybe Brits didn't understand the meaning of the word KOTI ...we have 33 koti deities here KOTI means types or categories so we have 33 types of deities in Hinduism namely 12 Aditya 11 rudra 8 vasu and 2 ashvini Kumar ... I think now I cleared the confusion of the word KOTI ... Keep up your good work 👍🏻
