Does Dynamic Toe affect or interfere with your Ackerman angles? for instance, by not taking dynamic toe into account, in full lock, with positive Ackerman, if the inside wheel is doing 50 degrees and outside is doing 40, would the angles change in you add dynamic toe into account? Also what is the mechanism that causes this dynamic toe phenomenon?

Loved this video. I have a drift car myself, and even still hearing the word ackermann and people discuss it was completely foreign to me, this video definitely helped clear some things up for me. Thank You!

Thanks for the kind words and the follow!!! Much appreciated. And yes, it's one of those buzz-words ppl love to throw around. Ep 2 will drop soon and it will shed a lot more light on the suspension parts involved to make Ackermann changes happen :)

Is this normal? I'm new to drifting but I thought you wanted the lead wheel to have more angle(positive Ackerman) not the trailing wheel.. is it different with a rear rack setup?

This is great! More when i have an angle kit that is fully adjustable, just need to test the different Ackerman settings! Please do MORE HOURS of this!!! Mine is a dual purpose build where i will be swapping arms for AutoX 😅 need more knowledge about the drift alignment tho

Great job, much appreciated to the information contained. I'm a big fan myself in drifting, but we are barely have the proper place to lay our hands on drifting here in our country. So most of the fans are doing sim drifting instead taking the risk to drifting on public roads. There is a mobile game of drifting named Carx drift racing 2 which is more arcade than sim that developed by a Russian team, and the founder is a RDS drifter himself in real life. The in-game tuning spec is quite detailed as a mobile game. So I've got very addicted to the game. And I have drifted my daily occasionally in commute. From my experience I always prefer some pro ackerman whether it's in sim or mobile game or real life. So when I running into your video, it got me confused as I'm sitting on my own experience, so I decided to go down to the rabbit hole, later I was despaired of finding anti ackerman simulation. Hoping that I can find out to have the taste of anti ackerman steering. I know this might sound naive of me, but could you share your thoughts of the mobile game Carx drift racing 2 as a pro drifter. Cause that could be my chance to get myself educated in drift tuning spec based on your view. It won't take much time cause the low tier cars with pro drifting specs have all the elements of tuning spec. Thank you!

Hi there. Glad you like the video. I have played CarX on Xbox one. If it's the same game on mobile, it's actually not half bad. It's by no means a sim, but the way you can control the car via left foot braking, the way you can make line corrections with the ebrake a lot of that stuff is directionally correct. The tuning aspect however... is wack. I purposely set up a few cars completely retarded (wheels literally next to the car, carolina squat, huge tires in the front etc.) and they drive just fine... So, don't read too much into the settings in that game. LOL

Teach me daddy Tom For a later video show me how you do your set up and adjustment, such as a plumb bob method, or if you use toe plate how you set caster

Love it. Kinda lost me as to why I should care whether the lines meet in front or out back. I think your point in bringing up the lines is hey things are opposite when you drift so think in kind about your alignment choices

Because a grip configured car's tires will scrub like crazy when in drift. :)

Awesome video! The point for me about only looking geometric, is like 0 toe would be more correct geometric but we know we need some toe out in order to have some good self steer, and this reflects the same way to anti ackerman, as we will have toe in during drift, the car will not “want” to straight or produce a self steer feeling. Also it will affect the radios the car want to Drift, making it almost wanting to slide in a straight patch. I’ve tried anti ackerman but personally it didn’t feel correct for me, I prefer low positive ackerman or 0 ackerman the most, of course it’s only my opinion doesn’t mean is the best choice 😅 Thank you for the content, would love to hear about kpi

There is so much more going on than just steering angle. So, it's important to try and isolate things. IE, was the caster good when you ran neg ack? Or was the caster better when you ran pos ack and it amplified the behavior etc. I have played with all this extensively and 'know' how my car feels with what kind of geometry, but it is so hard to put into words how the steering response of a car feels. Pos vs. Neg Ack is definitely a huge difference not necessarily in self steer, but in the trajectory when releasing the wheel (wanting to go wide vs. tight etc.). Thx for the lengthy reply and I hope you enjoy future videos :)
