It's funny because I was just looking up actual anti-wolf armor for sheepdogs yesterday, the Wolf Collar. It's basically just a huge spiked collar because most predators go for the throat and it seems to be very effective for sheepdogs fighting off wolves. It's been around since the time of the Ancient Greeks. I always thought spiked collars were just for looking cool, but turns out they're actually doggy throat armor.

In the movie”The Daring Doberman’s” the dogs all wore spiked collars for that very reason. There were a series of movies of the Doberman Gang back in the 70s. A pack of dobermans that were trained to rob banks. I loved those movies when I was a kid.

For the helmet, consider adding another harness that starts as the same place as the upper harness, but runs behind the ears instead of in front of them. This will help keep it from falling forward. I used to build holsters, and sword sheaths, and stuff out of leather. I'd built a saddle holster for a friend, just a nice little eagle in flight on the flap, but I made one little mistake, I ran out of gloves. So my hands were stained antique tan for a couple of days, embarrassing in church, I think folks thought it was sh*t stains. But my friend loved the holster, and 40 years later he showed it to again, it looks used, but still in good shape, nice to know ones work holds up.

If you have an uncooperative model to test-fit, I found that the best material to make your pattern is linoleum flooring. It has the same thickness and rigidity as leather, can be riveted or sewn and is inexpensive enough if you ask the store for their offcut rolls.

I don't know if it applies to dogs too, but i've heard that with wolves, the stronger lets himself be "beaten" during play. Because it's no fun to win always or something. But hey, you nedded an excuse to make a dog armour, so whatever. Beautiful, as always.
@WolfieDawn2 жыл бұрын
This is true! Most dogs take turns being pinned or "losing" (though some simply prefer to "win" or "lose"/roll over) it is healthy play generally as long as both dogs are having fun. Loved the armor! So adorable! I think you’d need a strap from the back piece to the helmet part so it stays in place a little better. The armor looks amazing without the headpiece, too! Either way, super cute and I’d love to see a family photo with all of you in armor.

Love how you left the shots with the removed helmet in the video, a true dog owner that cares for her pet beyond anything else.

It looks like you took a stuffed toy and put it in armour. He’s just too unrealistically cute and fluffy. I’m in love!

This was the project that I needed. I've had an incredibly tough couple of weeks, and today was one of the worst days. And then I get this awesome video showing the totally bad arse and adorable Nori, in all his floofy goodness, and, well, yeah, I needed the laugh that I got from it all. So thank you, Nori, for leonine one of your hoomans go a little crazy, and interrupt all your important snoozing. You're a totally majestic floof, and now we all know it.

Some mojang employee watched this video and decided that Minecraft dog armor should be made of armadillo.

I love how the helmet makes Nori's ears look SO floofy!

For the helm, maybe just add a small extra strap at the back that could clip to the underside of the top back panel? That would help stabilize the movement and forward shifting :)

Idk if it was me, but Nori acted more confident once the armor was put on. It may not be the most practical thing in the world, but it definitely seemed like it boosted his confidence a little bit.

I was kind of expecting a plot twist, where all the treats you gave him for cooperating made him gain more weight and the armor ends up being too small. Half glad it didn’t happen, half disappointed, because it would have been hilarious. 🤣

I always love it when dogs make dog friends. In a land of giants, playing with your own kind, talking, bouncing, no job, no clothe- oh, wait! ;) Badass job on the armor!

Utterly adorable. I also love the metal effect you got on the leather.

Love the ending. A little tweaking and the helmet will fit perfectly. He'll be a big smash at the next Ren faire.
