A thing I've noticed for a while now is that some people really want to start a "console war" in the PC handheld space. It's cool that the these devices have enough character to get people that attached, but it makes no sense arguing with gamers over their preferences. The Steam Deck is still the best device for most nerds, but if you really want a little bit of extra power and don't use a lot of the decks features you might be good going for the more expensive option. I am just happy PC handhelds are here to stay. I really like all of them, even the claw. That thing gave me a good laugh when it came out.

Definitely, same is the Z2 apu which is a rebrand of a 3 years old 680m iGPU which is slower than the old Z1e, the handheld design, size and Steam OS implementation is good, but it needed to be done with an 8 inch Oled display and the new Z2e chip with 890m iGPU

Especially since the jump in power in new handhelds is not huge, and often the battery runs out faster. Additionally, steamdeck is a more complete device, there are no compromises in terms of price.

Of note if the specs of the APU are accurate, the Z2X should just be a slightly modified version of the HX 370 However, i would love a modified version that is 6 Zen5C cores but instead of cutting down the cache give it the same cache per core as the 9700X, and then a 192 bit memory bus because if the 7735HS is memory starved with a 128 bit bus with only 12 RDNA2 CUs, then 16 RDNA4 CUs are going to be VERY memory starved

Merry Christmas 😊 The S looks a lot more interesting to me now with the 8" screen rather than 7 what was expected... But I still think I wouldn't go for it mainly because of the lower power gpu and maybe the battery. I'm very interested in the 2... I don't care about detachable controllers and I hope the improvements in ergonomics will be good enough and the detach gimmick (imho) doesn't get in the way. Lack of vrr is a shame but not that bad especially if it does have a high refreshrate. You don't actually need to reach high fps to take advantage of a high refreshrate like that 165 Hz. Thing is the higher the refreshrate the less of an issue lack of vrr is. If a screen tear is only on screen for 1/165th of a second instead of 1/60th you really don't notice it that much. Also it helps with total inputlag. I'm hoping to see a legion 2 with 32 GB, high refreshrate on that high res oled panel, big battery... For €900 max. If they manage that and the reviews are good, I'll probably get it. Also hope there's a m2.2280 slot in it, would be even better if it's in addition to the default drive, then I can stick a big one in and try dual booting Bazzite/Windows...

If the S has the same battery life as the Steam Deck, and unless it is CHEAPER than the Steam Deck, it is absolutely not worth. Same battery life, no track pads, history of suuuper delayed driver updates…. Steam Deck wins.

I think they will be great. The design of the legion go S looks really really good and it should perform on par or better than the OG Ally with steam OS. I love the original legion go too outside of a few issues like portrait display and slow driver updates it was my favorite handheld. It looks like they have redesigned it quite well and hopefully the new display is landscape! Fingers crossed!

No trackpads I can live with as I used the radials on SD just a few times but only two buttons on the back is a bit crazy. This will limit what can be done for creating natural profiles for keyboard only games. The shift funtion exists but is cumbersome

I wish for a Lenovo Think-GO the tuff and dockable version, with EGPU dock , and have the option to have a wire to dock so you can also use the device itself with the dock, or have the dock at the back of the screen, and just have the cable near to activate the dock. (And the egpu version dock should have normal gpu enclosure.)

FYI the legion go drivers are a mix of Lenovo and AMD's fault AMD chose to offer this chip that doesnt work with AMD drivers I just got the latest drivers that dropped this week, they're the same as the AND drivers from 5 months ago. AMD chose to open the door to the dark days of windows drivers when OEMS and ODMs had control over drivers used on their assembled systems, rather than the hardware manufacturers What i'd rather see is the Legion GO 2 have the HX370 instead of the Z2 extreme, or for AMD to say "ok the modifications you make to these devices have to be forwarded to us so we can place them in our own Z2 for XYZ driver packages for when you inevitably abandon the hardware"

Another reason we don't see OEMS dual booting Windows and Linux is becuase of Microsoft stepulating that is a big NONO they won't stop an OEM from making a "Linux" based device BUT they can situlate that Windows is to be the ONLY OS installed on a device which is partly why we don't see dualbooting Windows+Android devices even tho a few OEMS including Lenovo tried to do so back with WIndows 8 RT+Android Microsoft basically stepped in and said they can't do that and I honestly do NOT see that stance changing any time soon.

Lenovo is making all wrong, this device seems to be 500 or 600$, which for a 680m iGPU from the 3 years old 6800u is way too expensive, while the new Legion Go 2 seems to have the same huge and heavy 8.8 inch design of last year with Strix Point 890m, they should have used the Go S design but with an Oled 8 inch 1200p display and Strix Point Z2e for their top tier device, 8.8 inch makes it too big and heavy and 1600p resolution is overkilled and too high for the APU capability

I had the Ally with the Micro SD issue and Asus did a pretty bad move related to honor the affected customers. Lenovo a bad job supporting the OG Legion go. Have no handheld PC’s yet. I’m looking to use one with Gaming + Hacking. With that said, LeGo can run Linux whilst Steamdeck and ROG Ally X cannot. Lenovo makes great hacking computers. I do not mind paying more, for more performance and software interoperability. 32gb RAM on a Switch sized device is crazy work, and quite frankly.. dangerous😌

I like their first Lenovo Legion go has USB 4 that can transfer 40 gigs because you can connect anything you can connect even I can connect external graphic card that I can get significantly amount of performance I need which should be plenty. I don’t care about the bandwidth because this thing can connect amount of performance and be fine if it’s only 20 performance high or 30 performance extra it should be plenty to even if I play Minecraft that’s all a 1080 P or 1440 P I can get 144 FPS maximum but when Lenovo Legion go releases with a new panel that I am not interested because the price that means I might not consider for me to get the Lenovo Legion go 2 I will consider buy something else that does not have a panel because a lot of portable modern does not have OLED. With 1440 P up to 144 Hz I tried to find it and they don’t have it so I think it’s gonna take a bit of time that OLED panel is expensive even they don’t have enough to make it they do it just might take a bit of time so major factory may take a bit of time so maybe in the future then I’ll think about buying one or not
