A guy that scores goals himself, delivers the assists to his teammates to score goals, delivers passes just as well and as deadly as Busquet and Alba, create plays with his own dribbling besides the passes. Outside of the match, he provides inspiration to teammates that are not familiar with world level futbol. Inside the match, he inspires confidence, trusts and motivation for the rest of his playing teammates. He delivered results for clubs AND his country (I know that doesn't come into play in the MVP discussion but it is part of his season) He brought the low ranking team to top of the table. And please stop it with the argument of he can do this because the MLS doesn't defend. I thought he was tearing up La Liga and destroying EPL top teams in the UEFA when he was in Europe as well. Messi's numbers there are even more jaw dropping. Are you saying those are kiddie leagues too? I am not saying MLS is top level but when this issue is brought up, it discounts Messi's accomplishment. And people are asking should he be an MVP !??!? And on the outside chance of another player gets the MVP this year, if I were him, I'd reject the award within 15 minutes out of self-respect and publicly disparage the committee to even think of giving it to anyone else other than Messi.

No debate. Messi is where ever he goes is the best. That´s why he is called the G.O.A.T. Nobody can take it from him. In MLS everybody has a big-big problem with him: He is as good as his reputation. He mady others look like beginners in Europe and he does that in the US. No surprise. He does not even need to play the whole games in the play-offs. Enjoy him while he is playing.
