First off I just want to say amazing call on the King Arthur/Lancelot dynamic last week…it’s what I immediately thought of in the scene between Din and Bo. When it comes to the episode title, I think it is actually a reference to the Book of Joshua in the Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible. In it Moses sends 12 spies, or scouts, into the promised land before bringing the rest of his people. There are actually a lot of Jewish parallels in the season of the Mandalorian especially.

Din said it, for all those picky, judgy star wars "fans" out there, "what matters to me is honor, loyalty and all that jazz". When one has genuine love for this world, Nerdy and Clarus shows the perfect example of being smart enough to love all the silliness and still pause to find the hidden gems that are the undercurrent stories and meanings when you have enough insight to look deeper ❤ I feel that there's gotta be always a reason behind every storyline and plot twist. We need to remember that they are expanding the universe that we already grew to love, And the creators are also fans, telling more stories for other fans. I trust their process 😊

Well, the fact that Moff Gideon is afraid of "Mandalore United" really highlights the backgroung thread of season 3 of bringing the tribes together. And also the arc of the relationship of Din and Bo going from animosity to friendship. That was cool.

One thing to keep in mind with those Imperial Super Commandos (the not-mandos) is we know from their appearance in Rebels that they don't have pure Beskar armor. They have Beskar alloy, this is why you see them taking some hits and getting domed with others. Imperials cannot forge true Beskar, so they use this alloy that is much weaker but easer to make. It seems Gideon has a pure Beskar suit though, which is a big breakthrough for the imperials.

Many people got pissed with the sequels but they are not moving on from that. I was pissed too with those lame sequels, because they didn't put any respect on the former stories, they just copied and shuffled material form Legends (material Disney discanonized), poorly scripted, and with empty characters, like improvisation. Their stories were taken from other more interesting characters from Legends, with better character development if they had just adapted them: Luke and Ben skywalker, Mara Jade, Jacen and Jaina Solo. Many fans were also bothered for Palpatine but that was material from Legends too. The comics Dark Empire. Lucas never was happy about that plot but he let the publisher to go on. I wish they would remake the sequels how these should have been according the books they copied.

I agree about how people take Star Wars too seriously to the point that any silly thing ruins it for them. I think that was probably a big reason Jar Jar and TPM got so much hate. People had built it up so much and were expecting something dark and edgy like another movie that came out that year, The Matrix. So, I can imagine that made it difficult for them to see Jar Jar's antics. He never bothered me. I saw that movie in the theater 7 times. It was like being a kid again. I even began collecting action figures. Now with so much SW content, I can continue to enjoy it without having to wait 3 years for the next thing.

What's really funny to me is this ... the Lizzo shitstorm is a purely American problem. I'm from Germany and in this country absolutely nobody knows Lizzo, but people are all celebrating the episode and Jack Black in Star Wars. I've noticed the same thing with other KZbinrs from Europe. Everyone seems to like last week's episode, but people from the US have a real problem with the cast it seems and there I can only say, sorry guys, but you are not the only ones in the world. There are still plenty of people in the world who just celebrated last week's episode for what it was, a fun Star Wars episode with nice cameos and don't give a shit if any Americans are upset about the casting. You asked, "Did they have Praetorian Guards this early?" The earliest we saw Praetorian Guards was in 'Return of the Jedi", standing guard in the Emperor's Throne Room. They were near the elevator doors, and they left the room when the Emperor dismissed them. They had red robes and tall helmets. They looked intimidating, but they weren't seen in battle. There were people who wondered where they went after the Emperor was killed, but I think they were sent to prepare for the Final Order.

They're similar but the red guards in Return of the Jedi were the Royal Guard. They're actually different than the Praetorian Guards. Mandos dont all have beskar, its rare so a mandalorian bus driver or plumber wont have armour or only something symbolic like a chain. Most soldiers would have had alloy or synthetic armour or a few peices mixed in with synthetic and alloys. Armour is passed down through the family its so valuable . However since the population is dead theyve had years to scavenge the planet and loot the dead, bank vaults old mines and anything else thats left.

One thing a lot of people havent picked up on either, is if the storm is interrupting transmissions how is Gideon getting contact from Coruscant and all of the other Imperial Remnant factions. the reason Thrawn pulls more weight then everyone else is because he is The Grand Admiral. Gideon is only a Moff, not even a Grand Moff. Grand Admiral is a rank only given to you directly by the Emperor.

(Notice Gideon’s new helmet also features horns.) She is likely taking either actually injured Mandos back to the fleet just so she isn’t caught in the ambush she knew was there, OR she’s ferrying FAKE injured Mandos up to the fleet so thet can take it from the inside.

I would have *loved* to see Rae Sloane in that scene! For purposes of the broader 'Filoni-verse' story, though, I can kind of understand her being kept out of the narrative here. I believe her current rank is also Grand Admiral, and Star Wars is making a pointed effort to pump up Thrawn as this looming menace to the broader audience, so introducing multiple characters with that same grandiose title before Thrawn has even appeared in live-action might be at cross-purposes with that goal. If she's not going to be a major presence (or at least not yet), leaving her for now could be seen as a way to avoid muddling the getting-up-to-speed process for the live-action audience as it expands. In-universe, I can justify it as her 'faction' at the Shadow Council being the same one represented by Papa Hux in that meeting. If Paelleon is attending the meetings in Thrawn's stead, maybe Sloane sometimes does the same with Hux as her proxy. Overall, I'd definitely still preferred to have seen her, but whatever, not a huge deal.

2:15, you could call it a technicality, but since (as Gideon pointed out,) the STORY is what has the power, the important thing is: do the Mandalorians accept Din Djarin's explanation as qualifying Bo-Katan as the rightful holder and wielder of the Darksabre? Axe Woves agreed, that it belongs to her, and no other voices were raised in dissent. As Nerdy mentions, Din Djrain NEVER wanted to rule, or to hold the Darksabre; to him it was just a tool, and probably the least helpful tool (to him) that he had ever had, so this is a viable way for him to get rid of it in a way that the rest of the Mandalorians will agree with.

There was a hundred or so Mandalorians between the 2 coverts. 15 went on the mission and they gained the 3 from the glass glider ship. Axe Woves left dropping them to 17 and between the 2 battles with Gideons forces they lost about 8 or 9 more. So about 7 or 8 escaped and Din was captured. Its amazing how many people kept saying that Gideon was trying to clone Snoke/Palpatine. He wasnt he was trying to clone himself with the best DNA strands from jedi and mandalorians to be used in his Dark Troopers. He is vying for power against Thrawn. I would not be surprised that Gideon gets defeated in the next Chapter and calls for reinforcements and we get some monologue from Thrawn denying him the reinforcements. I dont think we will see his face we will get voice and then maybe the back of his head.

Gideon gaslighting his fellow Imps on cloning. LOL This show resembles reality too much. Need to let Clarus know there are still probably hundreds of thousands of Mandalorians roaming the galaxy, if not more. Mandalorians traveled selling their services abroad all the time.

Rae Sloane isn't there because she is part of the same Imperial Cell as Hux. Hux is her stand in on the Shadow Council like Paelleon was for Thrawn. Notice how Paelleon kept looking off screen too? Probably looking at Thrawn.

Ships in Star Wars have artificial gravity, which often gets used as repulsor tech. Even smaller ships like the Millennium Falcon and Slave-1 (or whatever they call it now) couldn't fly in atmosphere without it. It's also why escape velocity isn't a thing that ever needs to be addressed in the many, many surface to space ship shots we get in Star Wars. Once you've mastered gravity to that degree then what's the real difference between Luke's speeder and a Star Destroyer when it comes to hovering and advancing slowly?

A Moff is a political rank whereas an Admiral is a military one and in SW George has always wanted to show the political vs military conflict that exist in any government. I believe that this season has been about expanding the Mando Verse and doing it through Bo. This show is not called the Din Djarin, Bo Katan or Grogu show but "The Mandalorian" which is about the people and the struggles they had to face. The last two episodes would not have had the same meaning without the first five. For those of us who cared about the EU, not the Legends that Disney created, Jon and Dave are determined to bring some of that into the Disney cannon because the EU had some really good stories in. Jon and Dave, like George and unlike KK, want to give the fans what they want and tell good fun stories while doing it and they know SW and understand there are so many great stories in the EU that Disney just kicked to the curb. Ahsoka's trailer heard her say "Hire to the Empire" I was Holy Shit a book from the EU so fans buckle up since we know this season is setting up the Ahsoka series.

There’s a distinct difference between “hey! Let’s embrace the silly aliens or set pieces and tones” and “hey! Just because the writing is stupid and sloppy doesn’t mean we should criticize it”. Please please realize that just because this IP has done silly or stupid shit in the past doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be criticized. If you’re going to retcon or memory hole that a huge portion of the prequels or the 50 cartoons or episodes of BoBF sucked, you might as well just lean in and make The Star Wars Holiday Special canon and say it is great and underrated too

The beskar quality will probably play a part in the final boss fight between Mando and Gideon. Mando is wearing pure beskar while Gideon pointed out that he was wearing a beskar alloy. It will at least be something like Tjechovs beskar that Gideon has alloy armour.

I was thinking that Hux and Sloane were off together, right? So having her at the council when Hux is already present might have just been redundant? I was also missing her at the meeting, but this might be a fair explanation? Also gotta keep in mind though that Wendig wrote those books way before even the Last Jedi came out, I don't think Palpatine was the plan back then, so who knows how canon those books still are

Din is: 1. Bait to get Grogu and 2. Din kicked Gideon's ass, it is so personal. Bo is going to want help and I think she is going to call in Ahsoka, who will bring in Luke as well. And I think on more former Jedi might show up. Belleran?

Nerdy, the second spy is the Armorer. Only reason Gideon has Beskar is her. Do you really think the Imperial aren't going to find them on a moon? She has ties with Gideon. They told no one, yet Gideon found out. How? The Armorer told him their plan.

Sorry if what I say offends you, but the question that the Mandalorians are dangerous is somewhat stupid. For a long time they were sleepy warriors formidable, many tried to conquer the Mandalorian and never could, even the Jedis, the empire was the only one that could finish them off, but when they separated they weren't even dangerous anymore, so just imagine that they make a group too big again and more if they recover Mandalorian, they would become super dangerous, here is your answer, How difficult was it to come to that conclusion? It seems so, the good thing is that you have a girlfriend, followers to help you and sorry if I said stupid, but it really is.

Din’s armor is pure beskar. Gideon’s suit and his troopers are equipped with alloyed beskar. All the mandos we saw get blasted were using the alloyed stuff, OR the bolts that struck them were strong enough and at close enough range to take them down…

I'm not on twitter and I just watch a couple reactions (yours being one of the 2), but I get the feeling people are upset with this season(aside from this ep) because the first 2.5seasons(fett) had a clear direction and goal with din and grogu and every episode seemed to atleast further that goal, and season 3 has felt abit random at times, more like filler until we got the bo-mandalore plot. I liked the season and comedy, and I get that they wanted to have adventures and have this Gideon stuff be a surprise, but it probably would have been more epic with more set-up.

Episode 1 on Naboo, if you look, the blue suited guards protecting Palps were call Preatorion guards and the visor looks like a mash up of their Spartan style helmet with the Mandorian vibe. at least that's how i see it and it would make sense if they were loyal to Palps during the pre- clone wars, he would bring them along like he did many of his trusted advisors and officiers

Mandalore is the homeworld of the Mandalorians. But there are many more worlds inhabited by different factions/tribes. It’s called Mandalorian sector/space. So Gideon is afraid that all these tribes will unite if Bo Katan reclaims Mandalore.

this might just be my weird brain working overtime. we had the monster from the water (giant alligator), the monster from the air (giant bird/pterodactyl) and in this episode we had the monster from the ground... will the finale feature a giant monster emerging from fire completing the 4 classical elements? im probably overthinking and seeing a pattern that isnt there

Mandalore was once ruled by huge monster creatures. The biggest nastiest one was the mythasour. The mandalorians conquered the planet regardless and tamed a mythasour. Hence the myth.

There are people who are upset about anything and many of them on YT do that because they want followers and hating gets followers unfortunately. there are channels intitled "angry reaction" or something like that they specialize in hating other people work that by the way they're not capable of doing. I think there are very bad and serious things out there they could legittimately hate instead of hating stupid tv shows. I apreciate the fact you're the only one who noticed the great acting work Katee Sackoff is doing this season.

Showing my book ignorance, and thinking that they made the show for people who haven't read deep book knowledge. Maybe "Rey Sloan" or however that's spelled, won't be in the show until they give us at least a small fan nod intro to who that is. Also, knowing that the books are not at all the same story as the shows, is that a character thats here?
