Great looking prop. If it fits in the story, the area under the barrel looks like a perfect place to house either a functional flash light, or just the reflector and lens from a flashlight.

FYI raised serial numbers and casting symbols would be a perfect detail on something like this. Archer Fine Transfers offers a sheet of resin on clear film numbers and symbols for 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72 scale tank and armor model kits that, used on prop guns and whatnot, could help sell the illusion of metal parts. Just a thought.

I remember back in the 00s...when Stargate SG-1 moved from Showtime to SciFi (Now Syfy) more than a few times their Weapons were "Nerf Guns" with a healthy coat of paint and a couple 'greebles' added and a little filed off to hide their 'Nerf-ness'... on occasion they'd Mod and NES 'light zapper' pistol too...
@blackcatgraphics14832 жыл бұрын
Just a quick note from a film prop maker (great build, btw), please, for your own safety, keep in mind when transporting something like this in public, it can easily cause confusion with law enforcement and other concerned individuals. Learned this from experience, best to assume worst case scenarios in that sort of case. Lock them up in a CLEARLY LABELED container that explains it contains 'movie props'. Same thing would apply to cosplayers, though I believe they don't even allow weapons without orange tips into events normally for everyone's safety.

Cheep thrift store nerf guns are also quite good just to break down for greebles. it's also usually a good idea to make some side split silicone molds of the parts after you've removed the nerf logo's, just so that if you ever find another use for the same part you can easily cast a copy rather than having to buy a whole new gun for a project.

I was looking around my house because I use to have a toy gun that was painted black that I did years ago but I couldn't find It, I think I threw it out, but I remember watching this afew years ago as well as other stuf from your channel. So I decided I was going to make a prop gun myself. Thanks for providing the knolige needed to make this project a reality.

I found out that you can imitate wear by flipping the painted part (after it’s dried to the touch 20min after) and putting it on top a stretched nylon bag for the night. You’ll get a mirror like surface where the nylon was in contact with the paint and where it wasn’t the surface will retain its original texture.

For that amount of bondo, you really only need about a dime sized plop of hardener. But then again, if your style works, it works. lol This is one of the best nerf mod videos I've seen. You really make the entire process a lot of fun.

Also, for anyone who likes to use Nerf weapons as LARPG/movie props, keep the "guts" because all those crazy internal parts make good greebles and extra parts for other projects!

You want a Retro sci fi blaster that looks like something out of a Flash Gordon comic book or the Call of Duty Ray Gun, check a few broken Snapfire 8, not the nerf orange Jolt type Snapfire but the Nerf dart tag Snapfire 8, you can even convert it into the blaster similar to the red blaster that Earthworm Jim uses in the games and animated series.

Hi Anthony. Been following along for about 10 months now. Great nerf mod video, as always. Blasters are really fun to do. I'm so glad that you've also 'found' 3D printing as part of your armoury. Being able to create those small custom details really does make all the difference, especially adding logos and tie in pieces. I used to do these using the plastic from drinks or detergent bottles, drawing them on and then superglue to the item. Just so much faster result with printed. Please keep on keeping on
@DeltaWolf10004 жыл бұрын
Hey Anthony, in the future if you have a Nerf blaster mod on a spring powere blaster, make sure it's de-primed prior to disassembly, it'll help avoid the blaster exploding when you take it apart. Also. plenty of groups on facebook such as "Nerf Cosmetic Modders" where you can ask for help, post your mods, or take inspiration from. Great stuff! =)
