I worked for Nestle for 11 years. They definitely don't put much effort into sustainability or environmental impact. Production always took precedents.

Our local municipality accepts Nespresso pods in our recycling bins, prior to that, we always sent the used pods back, free of charge, in bags provided by Nestle. It’s not Nestle that failed, it’s people who couldn’t be bothered to collect and send back the used pods free of charge: maybe some of you whining in the comment section.

Believe the hype and get what you paid for.. For over 10 yrs I've roasted purchased green beans using a heat gun mounted to a bread machine. With a decent grinder and expresso machine you will never buy store sold coffee again. Over the time I've roasted way over 200 kg of many various type of single origin green beans, using the same DIY adjustable heatgun and a converted for purpose cheap 2nd hand breadmaker appliance.

Its Nov. 20204 and I can easily afford a Nespresso machine but decided NO - will rather go to a decent coffee shop and order a Cuppucino or Cafe Late than spoiling this taste at home.

Only wannabes who can't stretch to an automatic bean to cup machine buy a Pod machine. If you're serious about your coffee, £1000+ is the minimum you should be spending. When you're an aficionado, then you get a manual top quality machine, like a Gaggia. For those of us who can't ba arsed with the tamping, a fully automatic B2C machine is the way to go., They pay for themselves in the long run whilst allowing you to self-blend and produce a repertoire of specialist drinks.
