ARRMA Kraton 6S RPM bumper and TEKNO springs upgrade - Netcruzer RC

Hey guys - I got a response from RPM about the bumper and Kraton v3 compatibility. YOU NEED THIS - amzn.to/2CEbP69 RPM R/C Products: It will not fit on the V3 with the newer, larger front bumper. However, there's a simple fix. All you have to do it swap out the V3 bumper for the hinge pin retainer from the V1 / V2. The ARRMA part number is AR330230. Once that swap is in place, our bumper should fit the V3. Disclaimer: We haven't tested it ourselves. This is based off of some research on our part and customer responses.

Pete G that’s the correct part. It included the tiny bumper in the pack. However I just saw a video this week that had V3 Kraton using the RPM bumper. It does fit fine without changing the v3 stock bumper.

Nice video, so I installed the kraton front shocks on the Arrma big rock for the rear shocks and they're pretty stiff for the vehicle, would putting a softer spring like TKR8772 work for tha purpose?

Not sure if you care but the RPM front bumper also fits as a back bumper. Mounts right on top of stock "bumbers" and I've mounted the outcasts front bumper to the stock bumper then put the RPM bumper on top of that...super springy ;) www.arrmaforum.com/threads/kraton-6s-front-bumper.26333/

There is no doubt the - TBR XV4 2.0 Front Bumper - ARRMA Kraton 6S BLX is the best bumper on the market for the 6s KRATON in my opinion! What I like and you mentioned that they changed up the brace and added a hinge pin block to replace the stock bumper. This new design is much more durable in all areas since the brace now mounts to the hinge pin block instead of mounting to the differential. The update also allows this bumper to mount to all versions of the Kraton and the Talion as well! Also, thanks for the tid bits on the new Tekno shock springs - how do you like them when you launching your KRATON brother?

Do a few bad landings on the front and you’ll rip the front bumper off haha! Getting a new one. Countersunk screws ripped through the bottom.

It will fit the chassis fine but I’m unsure if it will clear the new body. It should, but I can’t confirm it.

Surprised an RC car bumper is just screwed in to plastic. Is that common with a rig with that much mass and speed?

A lot do yes. Screw goes thru some metal but usually screw into plastic blocks or diff housings is normal.

@@netcruzer The KRATON was my first RC car that wasn't toy grade. I did the spring upgrade about a year ago and felt I lost a bunch of control when going over small bumpy stuff, like 1" rock gravel pits. Just bounc3d around and lost it's heading whenever I punched the throttle. Original spring would drive straight as an arrow on same surface. Is this the tradeoff for stiffer springs?

Stiffer does yes or rides a bit higher. Not much but it’s extra plush IMO.

Guillaume Thibault I have a v2. As far as I know V3 and V4 use same springs. This isn’t necessary, but it lands big jump as and handles better with the Tekno springs

How do you like the badland tires? I'm debating on those or the backflips. I feel like the badlands would provide better handling but the backflips would provide better backflip/air control since they are larger.

For a Kraton I think the BackFlips are a better overall size and look. I only have Badlands on it because I already had them, they work well but look a bit skinny and small on Kraton IMO. Check out www.jennysrc.com under ARRMA Outcast and you may be able to pickup a brand new full set of BackFlips for less than retail. I would do that, if I didn't already have badlands.

It’s an old V2 Kraton body. Long discontinued. You’d need to find old stock somewhere.
