In 1989, beloved author Neil Gaiman started the comic book The Sandman. It ran for 75 issues and is praised to this day as one of the greatest works in comics if not fantasy fiction as a whole. And Netflix took the massive challenge of trying to adapt it to a series. Even with Gaiman on board to help, this could have gone wrong is so many ways. Whether it be unneeded changes, or (as felt more likely) being loyal to a fault. But this first season has been able to thread the needle to near perfection and I want to talk about it.
