It’s why the sequels were directed by her husband and the new screenwriter barely changed any dialogue and plot structure from the original books. i re-watched all the movies and the first one is by far the best. i think its more interesting and the acting is not AS cringey as the after hardin series movies. the acting is more just silly.funny to me than "horrible." idk, and the first movies ending where she breaks it off w him kinda made me wanna watch the second one. the third movie is kinda boring but the first and second the aspect i like is when they talk about Christians dark past and the characters involved in that are interesting.

When this movie came out, I reached out to my friend who works in the BDSM community. I told her off top, while i don’t know much about BDSM, I don’t think this is it.
