I remember watching this when I was a kid and I only knew Gullit, Basten and Rijkaard. Later in that match, Ronald Koeman suffered an injury and had to undergo treatment for a long time. I was wondering why this player didn't get a replacement. Why do they keep injured player in this important game. At the end of the match, I realized how important Ronald Koeman was and I would say he was *the man of the match*

He was very important because he scored the important equalizer for Holland and gave The Dutch players more hope and energy which results to the 2-1 goal scored by Marco Van Basten a couple of minutes before the match was finished. After the match Der Kaiser Franz Beckenbauer congrats the Dutch and he wish Holland good luck for the Final Match and it was then the revenge against The Sovjet Union. It was a very fairplay Eurochampionship without Red cards, 2 scored penalties (Matthaeus, Ronald Koeman) 2 missed penalties (Michel, Belanov) 5 goals at the tournament (Van Basten) An European Victory for the smallest country of the eight teams in Euro 1988. The oldest player of the tournament: Morten Olsen 39 from Danmark. The youngest player of the tournament: Paolo Maldini 19 from Italy. The statistics and information I knew was based from my big interesting about this Eurochampionship. Maybe it's because that I' am Dutch too.
