I see these videos and I really get the drive to want to sign up, but plunking down $500 always makes me a bit wary -- even if in installments. I'd LOVE to finally get into IT, y'know? But it's just my general apprehensiveness compared to going the CompTIA route.

So i believe i can answer this question. You're talking about investing $500 in either general knowledge and certification or general knowledge and experience. Either route is good, but in my opinion, experience will run you better in the long term since the certs expire and experience is only gained. As for the money aspect, if you can pinch the money, sacrifice in the short term for long-term potential. Be realistic about your prospects, but most entry-level IT will start above market average and will lead to great future success. Good luck.

500$ very reasonable, I am telling yiu now I have friends who paid 10k to 15k to learn similar cybersecurity curriculum for hands on experience. This helps bridge the gap between knowledge and experience, gives you an advantage over recent grads with no experience

All the internships around me pay low and are full-time. _ Hey Josh, I had a quick question. I'm currently working in a remote IT position (Level 1) and also working towards my degree in Cybersecurity. The thing is I don't feel like I'm really learning anything at my job (I kindof tell people to turn stuff on and off and reset passwords) Does your course go more in-depth with actual IT work? Should I take your course even though I already have "experience" ?

Awesome video @joshmadakor ! I am working as a dod contractor and am getting into networking and possibly getting into cybersecurity down the line. I’m on the fence though because a lot of what I see is hyped up or romanticized in an almost deceiving manner. A lot of the cyber ppl that I know are just doing policy enforcement or assisting with keeping companies in compliance. Am I seeing this right? Also I am wondering if I will benefit from your course? Have you ever tried to link up with UnixGuy here on KZbin I think you guys would be a dynamic duo! Even if it’s just for one video!
