Thank-you for posting this video! Well done! I was diagnosed with 6 points of herniated discs from T12 to L1-S1, about 10 months ago. I have been doing PT exercises to stretch and mobilize these discs; but with only limited improvements. Am waiting to get the money I need to pay for professional decompression sessions; which have been shown to be 97% effective in pain and movement relief. Your explanations of the various side effects of pinched nerve roots in the various disc locations are SPOT ON, in explaining why I feel pain, neuropathy, or impaired muscle strength down each of my legs. I have a constant sense of lack of feeling to both feet, and little feeling in my right foot. The effects are reduced when I practice my physical therapy exercises and take 2-3000mg of potassium citrate powder a day; a crucial mineral that I had been lacking for muscle contraction and nerve signaling and integrity. I also notice weakened thigh and calf muscles from time to time, and now understand why!

This perfectly matches my experience. According to MRI I have S-1 nerve impacted by 9 mm extruded fragment from L5-S1 disc, and the pain is exactly in the outer part of the foot (the pinky/smallest toe) as Dr. Nabeel said. Excellent job. It makes me feel good about the MRI people. I didn't spend money for nothing. At least I know exactly where the problem is...

This video is spot on. After 4 back surgeries resulting in a L4-S1 fusion, I had minimal big toe flexion. After surgery, I got about 50% back. My foot drop still lingers. Pain was in my shin and lateral gluteal muscle. Had a 2 inch piece of disc removed. Haven’t regretted a fusion. Improved my life.

There is more than the disc involved. The macanics that make up the vetebra have moving parts that move in certain direction. The vertebra as a whole slides up and down lest you twist right left also helps with weight baring of your body skeleton wise. When you have herniated one of the lower lumbar discs, you will feel different pains at different places along your lower lumba

This is really informative. 4 days ago, i suffered a big pain after i bend down. I did EMG test, and the result is my lumbar Nerve L4 and L5 is decreasing work. So pain when i sit and and walk. Doctor gave 3 times of injection on my right shoulder and one injection on my left shoulder and some medicine. Today i feel more better, but when i lay down or sit for more than 15 minutes, there's some pain running through the area L4 and L5 area. There's some symptoms that i dont recognize, that i often tingling on my right ring finger toe before. When i watch this video, i know that my L5 nerve actually not working normal. I hope that i can recover well soon.

You can handle it yourself. That's how we apply acupressure. You go to the leg and identify the living point where it hurts the most. Find which leg hurts the most at the same location. apply rotational pressure 7 x. It should hurt a lot. Otherwise it is not the right place . Do 3 times a day. Plus try the daily qi gong 8 exercises that will stretch the spinal cord in 8 different directions. Simple 20 minute exercise. Actually the cobra position in yoga if you breathe slowly and hold properly will take care of the spinal problems.

I had a 12mm protrusion on my L5-S1, as shown by an MRI. It started as pain in my distal right thigh. McKenzie exercises and physical therapy moved the pain out of my leg and into my lower central back. Continued McKenzie exercises pretty much eliminated the pain. I do have days where it bothers me and still get some slight pain on the top of my right foot and my right little toe, but I do believe the exercises saved me and the disc was mostly reabsorbed by my body.

Dr. Nabil, very thorough explanation of the lumbar nerve root affects to the body. I experience occassional saddle anesthesia and other conditions you describe. I have L5 -S1 moderate stenosis as well as at L2-L3 , T9 -T10, and C3 to C7, also diagnosed with facet joint arthritis throughout many areas of the spine including scoliosis with chronic pain and stiffness. 6 Surgical opinions from spinal and neuro surgeons all indicated No Surgery . Highly acclaimed neuro surgeon, Paul McCormick at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, said " no one will touch your lumbar spine....... I would have to rebuild the entire lumbar spine" ! I try stretches, and light exercise with recline bike, and light weights. I'm 68 years old, after results of a right femur fracture at 15, the right leg is just over an inch short. The growth plate in the femur wasnt reattached and the left leg grew and the right leg did not duriing the 4 to 5 months healing process ( 1st 6 weeks of traction in the hospital, the 3 months in a full body cast). After some 15 to 18 years no real affects except for slight limp when i was tired. Then the back pain and stiffness began . The past 15 years have just been progressively worse. The cervical spine also affected to a great extent. The poor posture , uneven hips, scoliosis twisting the soi e ha e wreaked havoc with my well being. As in your vid prexentation, reflexes are either very poor or nonexistent. Neurologist says I suffer from peripheral nerve damage from the spinal issues. I am a very anxious person, and trapped in the chronic pain / anxiety syndrome, each factor contributing to the other. I am taking every anti inflammation supplement known to mankind including CBD oil, boswellia, bromelain, turmeric, ginger, skullcap, flaxssed oil, proelytic enzymes, 20 mg Prozac, Babapentin , and occassional Advil or Alleve, and until COVID hit, seeing a neural psychologist as well as a Pain Management doctor. Im babbling.....sorry to all, but spinal health AFFECTS YOUR ENTIRE WELL BEING !!!

@@bekabeka71 Sorry for getting back to you so late. I just reviewed this video again. Feeling about the same , some days OK, others not so. I'm 71 now. I battle the effects of spinal issues. Spondylosis in the spine with facet joints lined with arthritis too, DDD, and various disc bulges all he way to C1 . As I mentioned -m there is No Surgery for my ailments. So it's just Pain Management doctor visits. But doesn't help because only thing offered are trigger point injections in he Trap muscles. What this video and others fail to emphasize is the Effects to your Central Nervous System (CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) [ sensory nerves of feeling and touching, etc.]. I have peripheral nerve damages, No Relexes, and extreme sensitivity to Temperature or touching (if I take off my shirt, at times , that action can stimulate "chills". The Nerves are all over-sensitized. I have started to add Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) which is stated can possibly heal the Mylar coverings 0f the nerve fibers. Currently, the only thing that helps is taking Advil (2 or 3 , sometimes Advil Cold & Sinus). With Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) - my back spinal disc are very Thin. And I have Dextroscoliosis at 25 Degrees. I've been to 6 different Chiropractors over the past 10 years... 1 who was gentle and helping with dealing with the discomfort - retired. The nest guy, hurt my neck to the extent that my Pain Managment doctor tolm me and him No Neck adjustments - could make me Worse. There are No cures for these maladies - just have to deal with them. One other point: In 2018, I found and visited a Neurologist , 52 years in Neurological Practice and a Dept Chief at Montefiore / Albert Einstein Medical Center in New Rochelle NY. He told me that the disc bulges at L2 and L3 - Bulge to the front into the stomach AND into the spinal canal in the back. That could affect your stomach. I think it does with stomach Bloating , IBS and periodic GERD. My GI dr. said no way could a Disc Bulge affect your stomach. Hope you are OK and working thru your Back Issues.

Do you really understand this medical terminology? To be honest, I get lost. I thought it was for people with medical background...

Natasha Doroshevych It is…..if Steve’s feet are starting to go numb, at the same time, that information should be addressed differently. This video is about testing the electrical circuits of spinal nerves. Not to be confused with metabolic syndromes, like type 2 diabetes. “”Usually”” electrical problems associated with spinal nerves are asymmetrical, one side of the body.

Hi Natasha, what I go after is tracking down the details so I understand what is happening. Mine is symetrical so it does not immediately come from my lower spine. My GP says its a common factor with age and in my case a nerve pinch just below my knees. If I ignored it and just sat around doing nothing, I would end up immobilised so instead I chase up exercises that keep me mobile. No diabetes, cholesterol level at 4.00 and very healthy, only bones tell me my age.

Gracias.... No tengo dolor, nunca tuve dolor.

Padezco lo mismo, aunque me hice cirujía L5S1, aún tengo secuelas, sigo sin caminar bien y de correr menos, aunado a eso también perdí erección, estoy triste, saludos.

Finally Doc ..i can find out myself where the problem lies ...... until now no specialist of chiropractor told me during 1 year of therapy ... ! Thanks soo much. Stimulation of blood to the spine by means of FAR infra red mat (since COVID-19)..and things go better ....., and perhaps the fasting does help also ! This is for all those who read it.

Thank you very much for the explanation. Now I can understand what is my pain at the right side of my leg, is related to my L5. I can't walk for long without that excruciating pain and I have to stop walk. Always I thought was sciatic. I have problems with my L5, L4, and L3. One doctor recommends surgery, the other said is better if I do not make any surgery and keep taking pain pills. So I am really afraid of surgery. So... I go very slow on walk. Thank you again for your explanation, helped me a lot.
