What an inspirational lady. I have been at the point of “what is the point…” but my late mothers strength has not let me give up. With the vision board, I feel the creative side is so important, I take Pinterest and web images, but I print them out, cutting them out, adding notes I find more powerful than my Pinterest boards. I feel so energised for the coming year, I cannot cure my autoimmune conditions, but I am convinced that I can live a better life and control my pain… watch this space….

I cannot overstate how much this particular podcast resonates with me. It further validated my beliefs regarding the power of the mind. And this is not a new concept. The Bible says, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." I do not believe there is such a thing as a placebo or inert pill improving a medical condition. When that sugar pill is given to a patient/study participant but told it is, say, a new drug, and their condition improves, it is the mind that caused the improvement. I was somewhat surprised that Steven (on the CEO show) expressed disbelief in the power of words. Neurolinguistics studies the relationship between words and the brain. Since ancient times, it was believed that man could not break the four-minute mile barrier. Some believed that the runner's heart would burst, or some other such catastrophe would await him. But when Roger Bannister broke the record in 1954, that mental barrier was broken, leading to many other runners would breaking it. Shortly thereafter, high school runners routinely ran sub four-minute miles. It was a physical barrier, a self-limiting belief, that prevented pre-Bannister runners from accomplishing this feat in under four minutes. It was a psychological barrier reinforced by limiting words. Experiments have been done in which a person was blindfolded and told that a hot iron was going to be placed on their arm when it was actually ice. Guess, what? Their skin bubbled up as if it had been a hot iron. The mind is amazing.

I am glad I stumbled upon this video. Actually, there is no coincidence. Thank you both, I really enjoyed it. I loved hearing Dr. Swart's perspective. She speaks of much that I have learned from Dr. Joe Dispenza. I also love to connect spirituality with science - it is my passion, which helps me lead a joyful life and now I teach it to others. I particularly love how science is now beginning to understand what the indigenous have known for thousands of years...and once you rediscover your power within, you can begin to create your reality. Blessings to you both and all that made this very interesting video.

Appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, logistically it is hard to video each and every single one but I am trying to video more of them for this reason. You can always subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts or Acast or Spotify if you want so you can listen to clear audio recordings on your phone?

Love this podcast however it might be more comfortable for guests if there was a microphone stand instead of having to hold a microphone for an hour. I know it would start feeling quite heavy rather quickly for me.

can someone help me with this thought. over and over I hear these experts say sth like: "I try to get 8 hours of sleep". How do you do that? I sleep very well all my life. yes, there are nights I don't sleep at all, or simply wake up after 3 or 5 or 10 or even 14 hours of blissful sleep. I am now in my early sixties, raised children, worked at times two jobs, just have had a normal life. I almost without exception wake up fulll of energy ready to take on the day, no matter the amount of hours I slept. I do not understand how wanting to sleep a certain amount of hours is accomplished. my body has his own mind and knows how much sleep it needs. BTW, for the last six years I work the night shift. I have zero problems coming home in the morning, then falling asleep just the same as if I were sleeping during the night. I probably average out 7 hours of sleep daily, and never get tired during waking hours. what "trick" are these people using telling themselves "I want to sleep 8 hours"
@18_rabbit Жыл бұрын
sleep traits vary quite widely, and it's a cutting edge part of neurosci that is of course not deeply understood, Except for fact that the majority of ppl will have truly deleterious medically measurable effects if their total avg isn't 7-8.5 or somesuch. So u r well within it with avg of 7.
@dineshapunchihewa1228 Жыл бұрын
Can I answer your question ? Even though I am not in this field as a doctor observing people I learnt this thing. First you do not have to stick to number of hours. When you grow old you require less sleep. Less number of hours. What you have to do is listen to your body. Go to bed at same time then when your body wants , wake up. You can do this practice during weekend without alarm and see after how many hours of sleep you wake up feeling refreshed. Listen to your body
