The powercreep in HSR has made me a lot more chill playing that game, since I see the treadmill / whale bait and decided not to participate. I just get characters I like and try to get them built enough to be comfy in story battles. I haven’t played enough Zenless, but from trying out the old free to play builds in Honkai Impact 3rd and laughing as they couldn’t even clear story content, I can see them putting up the powercreep treadmill as well there.

I just wish HSR didn't feel like even if I have the meta teams I can't quite do enough damage and will have my characters MAXED completely. Like in Genshin I can clear the abyss and even the crazy local legends and event challenges using at least some level 70-80 characters and having my 90 characters not triple crowned, maybe even a level 80 weapon, etc. It's maybe a little easier to max someone in HSR but also the relics are a NIGHTMARE they're all so bad for me all the time not to mention no off pieces and the two side thingies. Idk it tired me out so I'm trying to focus on story and events more and get comfortable with the second best scores in the monthlies and stuff.

@ I'm hoping and praying that they A: recycle the meta so if FuA teams aren't in and are power crept by break teams for example, soon enough they'll be back as the meta and so on. B: that they'll consider just buffing any characters who seriously fall behind. Especially with Seele being the OG she doesn't deserve to be so powercrept, even if she's the oldest and has had the most time to be crept.

The thing about this is that ganyu's downfall was never because of her personal DPS, it was the fact that her best teams were crippled by the circumstance of unfreezable/ungroupable enemies.

it's because of both, but mostly that her team dps is _relatively_ underwhelming. a character with high skill floor shouldn't be so lowly rewarding. if they had given her xiao or hutao treatment she wouldn't have fallen off so hard but i think the devs just don't care.

He will be powercreep one day, but not as soon as Ganyu. Part of Ganyu's main problem comes from Cryo in general, which is being unable to freeze enemies. Neuvilette, however, pretty much has little to no weakness (specially if you have C1). And he is not a very demanding unit when it comes to artifacts and team requirements. So even if one day he gets powercreep, people might still play him because of how comfortable he is overall But that's my theory. They can also go the Hsr route and inflate those hp numbers to the oblivion.

Couldn't agreed even more As Ganyu lackluster was interrupt res for her charging time, Being that she was an old character... so not really a thing to be blame for.(Yes, i know "just use a shielder" but even so trying to dodge an enemies atk would lead to her wasting time from fully prior her full dmg) As for Neu, he can bypass through shield n enemies plus he's range. There are 2 things that differ between Neuvi and Ganyu's situations tho. 1) Ganyu's playstyle, with charged attacks and her bow, makes her gameplay a lot less practical, which is a valuable difference in the long run. His damage can fall off a bit and people will still play him for the comfort of it, kinda like Raiden. 2) Ganyu's damage depend on Melt reaction, that means her team building options are WAY more limited and restrictive than Neuvi's who can just run a full team of supports and destroy Celestia. That means Neuvillette is way more likely to get buffed by incoming support characters. 3) Investment. It's more of a consequence of the previous point but let's say you have a pretty poor box because you're a beginner, with not many characters, and even less built characters, and you want to build a team, well there are not so many DPS that you can just pick to get a good team out of it. Neuvi works, you pick any 3 characters that aren't hydro and you're good to go. Heck Neuvi, Kachina, Lynette and Fischl might even clear the Floor 11 of the abyss at low invest.

It is fun to think of what situation can make C1 or R1 Neuvilette unable to clear but keep some other part of the cast viable. I can’t think of anything good… - Unlike Ganyu they can’t just make enemies immune to Neuvilette beam like they could with the ridiculous frozen immunity. (Hoyo could have just made frozen status disable a few boss movements or attacks like some other games do, if they thought infinite stunlock to be too strong) - A totally hydro immune challenge means the whole hydro cast isn’t used anymore. - Neuvilette still works in single target, so a single target Abyss won’t affect him either. - If they creep ATK scalers to 3x better damage and leave HP scalers alone, it makes an older unit, Bennett, stay meta. It would also have to be 3x damage or so as well, since you’d have to powercreep so badly Neuvilette+Furina+Xilonen/Kazuha are numerically too weak. - A reaction spam check (like an enemy that needs a certain number of elemental reactions to the face to go into downed stage) doesn’t work because you’d just run Neuvilette with Nahida/Fischl/Xiangling for a ton of meaningless reactions to finish the challenge. Of course the most boring and likely game killing option is Gacha powercreep treadmill, where you just inflate all the numbers so badly that the best current Neuvilette team can’t beat a version 6.0 Treasure Hoarder but the some random clown from the newest version can oneshot it.

Ganyu's playstyle is pretty clearly not comfortable with her charged shot playstyle. Neuv just has a straight beam of hydro with massive AoE and no downsides. He can only be disabled by hydro immune enemies and if he gets powercrept hard, Genshin is cooked.

NEUVILLETE has already been surpassed in dmg, abyss clears and speed runs by mualani, arle, chasca(only in ST)... Right now, he is known to be best only in AOE flexibility which is very great for anyone... But its not hard for hoyo to release such a dps with even better AOE than neuvi and doing atleast same dmg as neuvi if not more.. The problem with Neuv is that he's hydro. If he were cryo or pyro it would be much easier to powercreep him either by hard countering those elements or making other elemental reactions better. Hydro is at the core of almost every single good reaction in this game--if they hard counter Neuvs element, they counter every other team in the game as well. Imagine genshin but the only viable teams are like, Chev overload and maybe Emilie burning, or Mono Pyro. It would suck. However they have been trying to reign him in a little by using nightsoul mechanics that can also be countered with extra elemental application, which Neuv can't do. But as we've seen in the current abyss, that still fucks over a lot of the teams in the game. Neuv basically has a kit where it is perfectly possible to counter him, its just very difficult to do it without screwing over everyone else (the solution is to make a better bennett hoyo. hoyo listen. if you make a bennett that has no circle impact all the atk scalers could powercreep neuv without it feeling bad. hoyo LISTEEEEN)

that's Just False Statement the Downfall of Ganyu was by 2 factors. 1st Utility/Ease of use. Still today majority rejects Charge atk bow characters best Example is Leney. He is powerful but who majority doesn't use him anymore? That's because of his play style. 2nd Factor is Anti freeze which affects all cryo characters. So 1st factor doesn't apply to Neuvillette because he is the most Easy to play character and his AOE and reachablility is broken. 2nd Factor, one thing that stops Neuvillette is Hydro immune Enemies. And because Hydro is literally the centre of all Elemental Reactions. Hoyoverse will never Prioritise entire lineups/Era of Hydro Immune Enemies. Because it will break the entire Reaction system which they Prioritise. TLDR, Neuvillette will Never be Outdated. Yes there will be future Characters which may Do More DPS than Him in a second. but we all know peoples are not Speed runners they will always select the easy and reliable option than selecting the stronger but restricted/ un-reliable/ Bugged/ Difficult unit. Looking at Mulani with 12% usage Rate in current Abyss.

I think for now Neuvilette has gotten his big premium team, I don’t see more buffs for him. But he’ll stay really fking good for a LONG time, unless the dps jump they’re doing for mavuika is gonna be a consistent thing they keep doing. His single target damage is still insane for the aoe he has.

The thing is, Ganyu didn't fall off because of the enemies getting tougher (if the enemies even scaled that much at all). She did because her teams got less and less favorable to play with, rather due to the abyss not having a lot of freezable enemies or just because her teams need more effort to play with than others (Neuvi, Hyperbloom, Nilou, etc.). Her damage is still quite good enough to clear abyss, it's just that she isn't the best anymore.

Ganyu fell off because first of all, she's a bow character and there are a lot of unfreezable enemies now. Leakers ruined a game? I'm not surprised. They claim that everybody has to be aware of all the characters that are coming up. No they don't. Maybe they should not look at leaks and be ready for whatever characters, new or old, come up and ask themselves how bad they need the character. If they need them and they have the resources, then go for it. If they don't need the character, then don't get them. If they need them, but they don't have enough currency, then either do tons of exploring and events to get enough to have a chance to get the character or be out of luck until next time they show up. Older games never had any "character" or unit leaks. You just had to see them when they came out and make your decision based on what you had currently. These games should be treated the same. As it once was said, "You have to deal with the hand you're dealt."

Snezhnaya, the Cryo nation, is coming and many Cryo enemies cannot be Frozen. Not to mention Hydro does nothing to Cryo shields. So yeah, I can kind of see how Neuvillette will lose his usefulness over time. Let's hope he gits gud again when Khaenri'ah comes out...and that the Abyss's home turf will not be oversaturated with Tenebrous Mimiflora and 7.x will not deprive us of Nightsoul attack spammers like Chasca and Kinich.

I adamantly believe Neuvillette will never fall off. Self heal, to this day still the highest damage in the game, the best AoE in the game. Hydro element versatility, HP scaler. Neuvillette was designed in a way that at the absolute worst he'll end up like Hu Tao. Not top of the meta, but still strong enough to handle everything in her path because of every new support being exactly what she needs. Bennett, Yelan, Kazuha, Furina, xilonen, Citlali. Every region gives Hu Tao a new meta teammate. Neuvillette as we saw with Furina, Kazuha, and Xilonen he literally can't fall off.

I doubt it. While Neville may very well be powercrept, even in that 1-2 year span, Genshin doesn't actually progress its power scaling that quickly. It may not be efficient, but I CAN still use my Ganyu just fine. Diluc can still clear most content with ease.

I don’t see neuvi ever being powercrept. His kit is to good, self heals (no need for a healer) insane damage, even more insane aoe, tons of HP, comfortable, extremely easy to build, tons of FTP weapon options. He’s never going anywhere but the top 1-2% of the meta

as if Ganyu fell off. Melt Ganyu isstill the best source of Cryo damage in the game. It's not Ganyu who fell off, it's cryo as an element that didn't get upgrades for a long time.

There's not many early game characters that actually fell off in Genshin. There's like 2, maybe 3 of them that are in a lower spo then as they were in the beginning.

Neuvillette charge attack damage is constant. He can hit 20k-30k from good to amazing artifacts. He even can go over 30k damage with C6 and Signiture weapons without buffs.

Neuvilette can’t get powercrept like Ganyu… Ganyu still has good damage, but enemies can’t be frozen anymore Neuvilette does so much damage, so easily And the fact is that characters in genshin get powercrept by newer characters, not because the content gets hardwr

Cuz the game lacks alot of character/items utility they only rely on artifacts they should introduce new/additive itemslot for characters The game is very simple & a very baby game to play it needs to have more complexity to it I played other games like waframe there they got alot of variety to enchance ur characters kit; I got bored with C6R5 arlecchino I shotting everything (but lets be real genshin still feels the same)
