At first, my reaction was the same as most - shock. However, it didn't take much to pry the front doors open. The bishop may have had it sealed shut to keep out vagrants. Sometimes this is done to abandoned houses in the city. Just my opinion.

grace a pretty sure this were Pius X Society priests. I know they did it in Paris, Saint Nicholas de Chardonnet Church. The Churches belong to God’s Children. These churches were EMPTY. Catholics were forced to rent halls nearby for Tridentine Masses. Now they pay a fee to the government for the upkeep of the Church, and fill it with Sacraments and Faithful. Incidentally, they are also historical monuments, kind of « owned » by the government’s in Europe. So, not like the USA or Canada. They livestream Masses every day, and sermons, catechism...in French. Thankyou God for SSPX. The Commandos of Your Church.

Next time I go abroad one of my first visits will be to a Church celebrating the Latin Mass :) Never been to one since I became Catholic. God bless.

It's about time to declare Spiritual Warfare again....We just gotta pray. This was done in several places in France and Holland. Most Churches in Europe are hundreds of years old and are historical monuments managed by the government. The bishops refused to allow Traditional Catholics the right to use their own Churches. ArchBishop Lefebvre started a seminary to form holy priests. These priests opened EMPTY CHURCHES for the Faithful Catholics who want the Traditional Catholic Sacraments, Catechism, sermons and schools. The SSPX was kind of excommunicated when ArchBishop Lefebvre and Bishop de Castro Meyer consecrated four young bishops.. Rome had said he could consecrate one, they were dithering about which one, wanting to name him or choose a modernist. ArchBishop waited a long time and then said, nope. I will give four bishops to the Church... Pope Benedict lifted the « legally disputable excommunication of the four bishops. Pope Francis gave permission for SSPX to administer Sacraments. They have to pay a small fee to the government for the upkeep of the now full churches. The SSPX are Catholic commando missionaries. I’m overjoyed to see more mainstream Catholics waking up, with the help of Father Altman, Father Mark Goring, Father John Hollowell, BISHOP Strickland, Burk and others, and all the work of the SSPX.

TLM means Traditional Latin Mass. The SSPX is the Society of Saint Pius 10th, it is priestly Society that was set up in the 1970's to preserve the Traditional Latin Mass.

@Padrai o ceallaigh so you imply that Paul VI to Pope Francis have been obedient fully to the Truth and dogma of the Church? i am pretty sure you have not attended TLM at SSPX chapels. May the Lord bring you enlightenment and understanding seek not to judge based on your understanding. SSPX do not obey the popes on their teachings that are against the deposit of Faith handed to them by the Apostles and their successors. They were pope NOT to alter this deposit nor evolve Catholic Truth as if God is bound by time and modernity.

I am not Catholic, but support with my whole heart what they did. The Christian churches belong too the people that built them with their tithes and offerings.
