I've been trying to work on this concept in my personal life: remembering that failure is not the antonym to success. Failure can mean you're on the edge of greatness, learning, a way to connect with others, a motivational tool, a chance to reassess, a sign of someone else's growth... failure has so many positives, yet society has taught me that failure shows some sort of moral failing and proof that you're not good enough. Well screw that, I want to try new things, connect with others and grow. Fear of failure is just our irrational mind taking over, trying to protect us from the criticism of those who don't yet understand better. A full life is full of failure. Embrace it 🙏

it's not a failure but he did fail to reach an attainable goal. He did miss significant time in the series but also failed to make some crucial free throws to give his team a better chance at winning. ALSO, his rushed pass to middleton due to his fear of having to make free throws are actually blatantly WORSE than Ben Simmons decision to pass for the same reason.... but ben was CRUCIFIED! We all love giannis and i know this post isn't specifically about giannis but more about the topic he is talking about; i'm just leaving this comment just incase someone doesn't know the specifics of why the question was asked! So yes, he is right, overall it's not a "Failure". because lessons are learned and improvements are made... BUT, CONTEXT IS KEY..... At the beginning of the season, they were the favorite, They also set a goal to win, they failed to win...... Here is Giannis himself telling everyone what the goal is coming into this season : kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaKVmX2dgL6JpLM pS... Let Prime Lebron give this same take............ Bet it won't be an "Inspirational" speech

There's NO COMPARISON to a regular job and organized professional sports. Not only do they win championships, they win defensive awards, get shoe deals, other sponsorship deals outside of their job field as an athlete, and etc. The bucks failed to win and build on top of the success they already had. This year is a wash. Shaq said it best on NBA on TNT. Giannis himself isn't a failure individually, but the team as a whole failed to live up to the standard they set. Failed

Weird how Acho is (rightfully) agreeing and understanding the context for what Giannis said. But with his tv show Speak, he and the other analysts all said Giannis was wrong and it is indeed a failed season. This why you can't trust tv shows at times. It is all for clicks and buzz.

There is failure in sports though. He can love his life and be thankful for where he is at but the bucks did fail. This is not some little league team that everyone gets a medal this is the NBA. They were favorited to win it all and on paper a much better team. Good on him for having a positive attitude and mindset but at the end of the day they failed.

Of course you would have this view. Figures. The mission was to win a 🏆..he failed. And I have mad love and respect for Giannis. He didn't run to another guy's city to win. I bet you respect those actions. MJ told the world he failed...that is why he succeeded. This sensitive emotional mentality is why we are failing as a country. Take that pain like a man..own it and come back stronger. Exactly why MJ is the true G.O.A T. no matter what the media clowns try to insinuate. Respectfully. Giannis is still a better champion than the guy who ran from the smoke. He was livid at losing..in his heart he knows he failed but I do believe he will return even stronger New media...lmao...big joke..

I got to be honest. I disagree with Giannis. The issue should be the connotation that failure is inherently bad. Its not failure is a step to success its okay to fail..if your goal was to get a promotion and you didn't you fail to get that promotion but that doesn't mean you won't or that there weren't not other things you did. One should not hide from failure. One should not be scared of failyre

I disagree. Everyone can't win, and everyone can't reach the pinnacle of success each time. Yiu may have made progress but if your progress doesnt match the expectations set before-hand, it was a failure. Their goal was to win a championship this year...not make the 1st rd. To the guy who may be traded to IMPROVE the team next year. The traded player would view it as a failure. He wanted to win with the Bucks

The bucks' goal was to win the championship. They didn't. They failed to win the championship. I understand the guy is literally going through the grieving process after all the work he put in just to fail to even make it out of the first round and lose to the 8 seed, but giannis is totally wrong. "You don't always succeed." That is correct. And what's the opposite of success? Failure. The bucks failed. They were the top seed, had the most wins, had the best player in the league, and couldn't defeat a play-in opponent. In fact, it was a 4-1 series loss. Sure you can still learn from your failures, but that doesn't make them not failures. If you keep working hard year after after and fail to win the championship time after time, but eventually get there one year, then those failures may have led to one year of success, but they are still failures. You're goal in 1971 is not to win the championship in 2021. You can learn from a car wreck, but it's still a failure. Acho is just a dumb dude who wants to sound smart.
