I clean my vr wave Lense inserts with eyeglass cleaner "wipes". Single use, alcohol based, designed not to scratch plastic or glass lenses. I clean them a few times a month, or if I can detect any Lense smudging.

Ill start the list off 1. Non split screen spectator mode 2. VR replay tool with landing mode 3. VR eye and hand tracking and integrated knobster support for easy switching between various different knobs without bring up toolbar breaking immersion look at a switch or button it automatically highlights indicating its ready to be interacted with and a button assignment or knobster instantly corresponding with it while highlighted

Happy new Year to you too. Never damaged one of my Headsets. Ill store mine over my Thrustmaster Throttle Handles. Its so safe and far away from the lenses. Allways only microfiber clothes to clean that are near my Simpit.

I store my headset in a soft motorcycle helmet bag. Perfect for keeping the dust out and sun away from the lenses.

I always shut down Pimax Play, and turn off AC power to the headset when I'm not flying. Seems totally logical to me. Thanks.

Same but I've seen members of the Pimax Discord say they can't imagine why one would unplug the headset each time. Well, for one you would avoid damage from a power surge if you're not connected to a surge protector but also it's a waste of electricity.

@GD-lv8cc I don't unplug it. I have the power supply on a switched PDU/surge protector. Just flip the switch off when done flying.

Good morning steve. thanks for these suggestions. i notice you have a knobster but no small monitors for air manager popouts of the G-1000. how do you use the knobster?

I take it a step further and make sure my microfiber cloths are in an eyewear case to keep them from collecting dust, themselves. One thing i can't find a consensus on is whether or not to shut down my Valve lighthouse base stations when using a Pimax headset. There's no Bluetooth in the headset to control the standby mode so the only way to turn them off is to unplug them. Some say to leave them on because stopping and starting the motors is what will wear them down the most while others say to unplug them if you're not going to be using them for a few hours. Would love some more insight on this.

MSFS2020 was blighted today. All controls became unresponsive. Viauals continued, Sound died. Only solution was to press Escape and Main Menu. Then do a complete system shutdown by holding the PC 'On button'.

My VR Wave lens inserts for my HP Reverb G2 do _not_ stay tightly connected to the VR set's interior. They are mostly loose and if I look straight up they are likely to fall off onto my face. Not recommended at least for that headset.

There is thing called Blue Tack. It is a blue tacky thing for putting up posters. I use it for model masking. If you order some and roll it into really thin rolls you can use it to hold your inserts in. I had a set for my VIVE 2 Pro and they did not actually clip in. They kind of went around the lens bezel and never stayed put. I put thin rolls of the blue tack and they never moved again. And it is not permanent! If you need more info just message here and I can go further into it.

I can vouch for screen burn from even weak sunlight on the Reverb. A costly mistake :(

All good tips except for VR Wave inserts. They were the worst ones I've owned, so cheaply made the lenses would fall out of the mounting devices. I highly recommend VR Opticians instead.

Top tip. When you've finished a flight, switch the whoile system down. Completely fire up for the next flight. When you've finished for the day, cover all your kit with large towels as dust covers. Put a black marker dot on the OUTSIDE, so the same side of the towel is collecting dust. If you have you Home Cockpit in a spare bedroom with your bicycles or Radio Control aeroplanes, put a bolt near the top of the frame on the outside. Preferably with a padlock. If you wear spectacles, contact Outside Clinic for a home eye test for your HMD. That's if your regular specs don't give a sharp visual.

@@vangoghoff5521 LOL. in the interest of not scratching them, I never touched the lenses. They might be plastic, but I'm not tapping on them to see. I don't have a fogging problem though. If they are plastic, I'm a bit disappointed. But given that the PCL lenses are large and heavy, weight matters.
