It´s part of Rammstein´s magnificent artistry to be able to to provoke the same emotion every single time you hear on of their songs. No matter which song it is, the emotions I felt when hearing it the first time is exactly the same I feel every single time. It doesn´t fade away, no matter how often I hear it. Sometimes the emotions are stronger depending on personal situation, but they are still there. And Rammstein is the only band that is capable to achieve this for decades with almost every song they put out there.

It's interesting that Pink Floyd's song by the same name has a tendency to bring out the same kind of response, and as others have pointed out, more so the older one gets.

Ditto, and I'm over 70. David Bowie's song "Time" (as I perceive it) is also full of emotions, 50 years older.

There aren't many KZbinrs who react so emotionally to the song. But I like that and it's OK. That's how it has to be. Because then you notice that people understand this song. RAMMSTEIN has a lot of emotional songs. If you read the lyrics and understand what message Rammstein wants to convey, you'll see. Rammstein has simply been the best band in the world for years. That's just a fact.

One of my favourite Rammstein songs. ❤ The line that gets to me the most is "Augenblick, verweile doch, ich bin noch nicht bereit". I've unfortunately had a lot of people in my life pass on; the first funeral I remember anything of was when I was two, for my cousin of the same age. Even in just the the past four years, I've gone to as many funerals (including one of my uncles the day before the pandemic shut the world down). I'm close to my dad. He actually just had his birthday yesterday, and I'm increasingly aware of the fact that he's getting older and I won't have him around forever. I dread the day I'll have to say goodbye to him; I don't think I'll ever be ready for it.

I have been a German Rammstein fan from the very beginning. They determined my zeitgeist, accompanied my life in many ways and were there with their art when I needed it. All of this was almost destroyed by the terrible press campaign surrounding last year's sexual debauchery and rape allegations. But today I am even more on the side of Till, my cousin Sven and the other boys, now that they have been identified as victims and not as the perpetrators. Keep it up and keep impressing audiences around the world... Love you.

This will always make me cry. My sister had cancer around the time this came out. I had been learning German at the time & she loved hearing me speak it as we lived 100s of km apart but I went through the whole pandemic getting on trains to go see her. One day it was a beautiful sunny winter's day. So we were hugging in the lounge room just feeling warm & enjoying the hug so I was softly singing this. The perfect moment. I went to leave & she called out love you. I called out love you right back! And that was the last time I would see her. 2 weeks later her health tanked & I was on the phone on speaker with her partner in the middle of the night as she slipped away, apparently with a little smile on her face. 2 years coming up in June. I couldn't be there when it was his time to go, so I kept listening to this song (plus "Helvegen" by Wardruna). I love this song, but I have a hard time watching it now, especially the scene with Ollie (the man who has his daughter taken away). The fact that Rammstein used the Nornir, the fates from Norse mythology, is especially poignant, because they demonstrate that we can't control time and how it affects all our lives. Such an honest, human response! Chapeau! Living the remainder of one’s life with as little regret as possible is often an advise given to people suffering from a terminal illness. Everyone of us, when he has reached a decent age, has had these perfect times and the sad ones. One and a half year ago (end of 2022), I have stayed with my father for around one month as he got sick and was not anymore able to live alone. So I have shown him some videos over the time in first case from Ramstein: Deutschland, Mein Herz brennt as regular and Piano version, Adieu, Du hasst (Paris version as example of perfect crowed control) and Zeit and discussed with him the videos. And yes, Zeit really has had an impact on him, he was well aware, that his live will come to an end in next years. Last summer my father died after a short but rough 6 week illness. When I hear the song or when I see the video, I have to rember this time. It is not easy, it is getting better, but you have to recognize, the grief time has still not ended..

Once as I see the birth, remembering the two moments new life came on earth, seeing the head of my daughter, of my son, coming out, those pictures burned in my head, I will never forget. And then, a few seconds later, feeling fear, looking at the eyes of the father, I have known what would come ... And then, he's running, too late, no mum, no dad will go through this. This is one aspect. Then, the perfect music, the colours, the visuals, the symbolic (men with scythes, the 3 norns, the sand-clock etc). You said it, a masterpiece.

You said something that struck a chord with me... The "say what you want to say" and the "honesty of it".... There was a famous actor in Portugal, which I admired a lot, António Feio. He passed away with cancer but before he wrote a book, and his message was "Don't leave anything undone, don't leave anything unsaid". This song does make me look back and see what is gone, what was lost, those who we left behind, those who we drifter apart from, those who we lost. All we left undone, unsaid, unloved. It makes me think that life moves forward, and that we need to live the present with those who we love, fight for them, and not waste the time.

Three Women of destiny are mentioned by Name: They are called Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which becomes) and Skuld (guilt; that which is to be). Their Names are regarded as Norse equivalents of common medieval concepts of Time in the form of personifications of the Past (Urd), Present (Verdandi) and Future (Skuld).

"It's taken me 30 years to figure out who the fuck I am... And I feel like, as I have learned so much about myself. I know nothing." That sentence hit me man. I'm pretty sure most people feel like that. At least when they slow down and actually think. But its funny how from the outside looking in from your own perspective it still always feels like everyone else has their shit together and you are the only one that has no clue of what's going on. If we only knew how many around us probably relate to those feelings. It's a weird universe we live in.. on a very weird planet.. and we are all very weird creatures that are just trying to piece together what the fuck is going on.

Time is the most valuable commodity the thing we have quantified and we want more and we some times don't have. The entire album almost is about loss it feels.

This song can emphasize your current emotional state. Their ultimate masterpiece. You shouldn't suppress your anger that isn't healthy. You need to find a way to release that negative energy.

I've also gone through a lot of cr** and had to bury my mom and my grandpa. My dad is currently very ill too and for a while things looked so bad the doctors said we might have to decide that he should be allowed to die. Luckily, things are looking better now. I really hope he keeps getting better and might have a few more years. I was so terribly worried and cried so much and the other deaths were already reason enough for me to cry when listening to the song. Mom died 13 years ago, but it still hurts. I've also often been a nobody basically, bullied relentlessly etc. but luckily, I've always had my family who were there for me and supported me. I don't know if I'd still be here if it wasn't for them.

Thank you. The song and video is a masterpiece. Rammstein's songs are always about deep topics and they make you think - that 's why I love them so much. I feel what you said and I understand your emotions. The message that this song sends to me: you don't know what you have until it's gone, so love and cherish the people that are in your life while they are still here, and let them know what they mean to you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! For me it turned out to have even more meaning than the clip. At times the pain inside tears me apart, but the feeling that I am not alone, that I am creating something beautiful, keeps the light ahead.
