I was already in the fauxbonichi journalers group and, without ever hearing of your channel, asked about journaling in comp books and how they hold up. Someone mentioned your channel so here I am. Literally. Obsessed. with your journals. SO glad I found it!!!

Thank you so much for watching Tricia!! Oh, the Fauxbonichi Journalers group, how I loved that group, and I thank the person that directed you to my channel :) That group is how I got started on KZbin and I will be forever grateful. I wish I could still be a part of that group, alas, what I do isn't technically a Fauxbonichi anymore, though I still use comp books :( There is tons of inspiration in that group!! Glad you've enjoyed the channel :) Be safe and be well, Elizabeth

Thank you so much for watching!! With this type of journaling, one doesn't have to be an "artist." I don't consider myself an artist in any way, shape or form. This type of journaling is for all levels, from the beginner to the advanced. The joy of it is that you just write your daily memories and if you want you can decorate the pages or you can leave them blank, it's your book, so it is up to you. If you are interested in this type of journaling, I would highly recommend you join the Fauxbonichi Journalers FaceBook group as there are many types of individual styles as well as motivating, encouraging, loving and inspiring people that share their pages daily. Thank you for your sweet compliment, and trust me when I say, I AM just a regular ol' person, emphasis on the "ol'" LOL!! Everything I've learned how to do, I've learned through the inspiration of others on the group or right here on KZbin. If there is anything you want to learn, from drawing to crocheting to anything artistic, you too can learn it. Watch a few or 100 videos and practice, practice, practice. I'm sure you will amaze yourself!! Be well, Elizabeth

Your videos have been so super helpful! You give great details to each step! Thank you so much! I am wondering if there might be a video that I may have missed about the closer on your books that looks like you may use an eyelet punch. I love how it looks so much! Thanks again for doing what you do! ~Michelle
@NeverHopelessbyElizabeth4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching Michelle!! I'm so thrilled that you find the videos helpful :) I don't believe there is a specific video showing how I put the closure on, but it is simply a hole punch in the center of the front and back covers about 1/2 inch from the edge. I put an eyelet, but it is not necessary depending on the thickness of your covers, then I put the ribbon on. I will try to show an example in my next Ramble Session coming up on Monday. HTH :) Be safe and be well, Elizabeth

Your pages are beautiful. I'm lazy too and I do have stamps for the month but as you said I'm lazy and don't want to lug everything out. What type medium do you use to make the colorful pages are you using colored paper like the beginning of painting it? I have so much paper you'd die to see how much! Need to grab that stuff out and use it
@NeverHopelessbyElizabeth8 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment!! I am quite lazy when it comes to dragging supplies out. I seriously need to go through my stuff and get rid of most of it. I tend to gravitate towards certain items for my Fauxbonichi, always the same items. To answer your question, I color my backgrounds in with colored pencil. It is the last step in my process when I create a page. HTH!! Be well, Elizabeth

Thank you so much for watching!! I'm not sure what you mean by "wash?" I'm assuming you meant "glue." I no longer do my journals this way, but when I did, I glued three pages together. It makes the pages more sturdy and nothing bleeds through no matter the media you use. HTH :) Be well, Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth!! Where do you find your quotes for your fauxbonichi?
@NeverHopelessbyElizabeth8 жыл бұрын
I actually just google the types of quotes I want, then copy and paste them into my word processor using the address label template. I search for things like: quotes about strength, quotes about hope, Bible verses about hope, etc. I've even googled the quotes that are said at the end of each episode of the show Criminal Minds LOL!!
@lisast.germain70628 жыл бұрын
I've done the same thing with Criminal Minds! Haha! My challenge at the moment is learning to use my iMac as I don't have Microsoft Office so I've been getting away with using Google Docs. Only problem is, I haven't found a label template. I love your work! Thank you so much for the inspiration. 💜

I havent got much supplies. I have been drawing borders or coloring in the margins but I don't have washi tape yet or much stickers. I've had to diy every part of my process. I also don't have address labels. I don't do that like you. I just put Day of month Month name Abbreviated day name (i.e Fri) Weather And then a doodle or two about my day then write around the doodle about my day. Your fauxbonichi is way more creative. Mine would look boring compared to yours Plus because of little hands and fingers in my house every page, once it's complete, gets taped down with clear packing tape. It makes it more water/juice resistant. My journal looks less pretty than yours. But I can definitely say it's spill proof. Could I send you a picture of a page or two from my journal and see if you can tell me what type of journal I'm doing? I like labels lol.
@NeverHopelessbyElizabeth6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching Rhea!! Firstly, your journal is beautiful simply because it is your journal, about your life. There is no need to compare your journal to anyone else's. Everyone's journal is special and unique to that individual. Secondly, you do not need all the "frills" in order to have a beautiful journal. Sometimes, I feel that the less materials you have, the more creative you become. Of the pictures I've seen of the original Hobonichi, the creators just use a black pen and draw doodles and write about their day. There are no stickers, no washi, no other embellishments. The Fauxbonichi has changed over the years as people add their own spin onto it, so that now it has become more of a "creative" journal as opposed to a "fake" Hobonichi, if that makes sense. There are ways to decorate your pages, if you desire, by using lots of free/low cost materials. If you look up, "free magazines" online, you will find a lot of magazines that you can order for free then use those as clip art for your books; that's just one example. Bottom line is that you are writing down your daily events in a a way that is pleasing to you. Please, if you haven't already, join a FB group about journaling (I always leave a link in the description box to the one I belong to) there is a wealth of information on the group site as well as many different types of journaling to get inspiration from. If you'd like to share some pages with me, please feel free to email me at the address listed in the description box. HTH :) Lastly, be kind to yourself, you deserve it!! Be well, Elizabeth

I used the purple glue from Elmer's, it dries so quickly even though I am working quicker to get my page down. Do you have any problems with them raising or separating after the glue is dry?
@NeverHopelessbyElizabeth8 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching!! I use tons of glue sticks, but yes, unfortunately sometimes separation happens especially if I use wet media on the page, it must reactivate the glue. I also washi the sides of the pages, so they do stay together. The only other thing I would suggest would be double sided acid free tape, but that can get pricey. Be well, Elizabeth
@daddy327018 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I do washi the sides as well. I am enjoying the fauxbonichi/altered composition book. I just asked everyone for Christmas to get me a bunch of them and some more markers and pencils, since I watercolor as well sometimes! Great vids!

You are more than welcome!! Every year my family asks what I want for Christmas and every year I say, "A box of glue sticks!!" and every year they say, "I'm not just getting you glue sticks for Christmas." Maybe one year I'll get a box of glue sticks!! LOL!!
