If apartments in the States were designed like THIS apartment - with high ceilings and huge windows for light - then sure, living in 450 square feet might be doable for many. But here, most apartments are just hastily slapped together boxes with no form or function, little light, little insulation, very little quiet, and very little charm. Daniel has really made his place cozy, gorgeous, and oh so livable! I just love how everything is curated so specifically, and with such an eye for detail. I also love how he "thinks outside the box" when it comes to the use of IKEA items; who says you can't make your place look beautiful on a budget?! This is really one of my favorite apartments that I've seen on NTS/YT! **saves**

Loyal viewer of this channel and I have to say, this is definitely one of my favorite spaces thus far...Completely HIS OWN. I think most modern/minimalistic spaces go for a more typical templated look & style, but it ends up looking like a copy/paste Scandinavian design inspired home that we've seen on these kinds of channels a billion times. It's a nice aesthetic, but lacks personality and tells me nothing about the particular interests of its owner other than the fact that they like minimalism. However, this space, is unique and truly stands out because every inch has been crafted to represent an interest or extension of the owner...How it should be. Kudos to this man!

Yes, it's nice to see how the space is actually used by the person living there, and the tweaks made over time to make it more functional. Whenever I see the architect tours of a new space, the design is usually impressive, but then you start wondering - yeah, but where do they put their toaster? or vacuum? and other practical things like that, which aren't necessarily aesthetic. This really gets into a lot of those little solutions that make a huge difference when you're actually using the space.

I love how honest he is about the place and how things change and may evolve in the future. Also, we dont often get to see a person owning a lot of things and I am very happy to see that living in a small space does not mean having to get rid of everything you have and that theres a lot of ways to live in a space no matter what you do for a living, the hobbies you have or the things you collect. Theres a lot of great solutions here and I felt very happy when he spoke about the place above his wardrove having suitcases and christmas decorations, because we all have that, we dont access frecuently to it and its a great place to save all that and he uses the high of the apartment to work in its favour. I’ve seen some apartment therapy videos of people’s spaces in New York and the amount of stuff some people have and display, is just overwhelming. Small? This apartment is bigger than my whole apartment complex! 😄AND has an amazing view plus these awesome columns framing the window. - He lives in an AMAZING building. I would say the most beautiful building in Melbourne from what I street viewed now. The BIC STORE at 2.15 (an old warehouse) is also an amazing building that is abandoned since 1968! Only the ground level has a grocery store now. That could be transformed into wonderful apartments, too.

I usually don't like architects' homes, but Daniel's is an exception. It has plenty of interesting and practical(!) architectural features, but it also has that curated art/book/design/plant collector vibe. Very appealing! It's not my colorful scheme; it's a bit too neutral/muted/almost bare minimalistic, but exactly because of that its maximalist style gives the minimalistic impression. Extremely well-curated, Daniel!
