he literally didn't preserve. that is called enhance. part of architecture studies. preserved means u touch nothing to the original element. such as painting, drilling over etc. he is doing restoration and enhancement. there's difference.

Interior designers & architects are people who have submerged in this particular area of knowledge, they are trained to bring to life projects like this, they have an expert's eye for things gone wrong/not particularly well/extremely succesfully (and they also know the "whys" behind the facade). Their opinion, whether you agree or not, is a professional's one & yes, it matters a little bit more. That's why film makers are awarded by film makers, physicists by physicists, architects by architects :)

I've watched countless videos of renovations, but this one might be the best I've ever seen. An amazing marriage of beauty and livability in such a small space. He mentioned the design detail of vertical dowels to add texture to a couple of doors, but he didn't point out that the vertical striations actually form a theme throughout the home, and even appear by chance on the concrete wall he exposed in the living room. I wonder if he took his cue from that. I was struck by his clever design of the bathroom sink for two people. (The only detail that seemed rather confining was the niche for the stove top.) This should win awards.

Same here that niche for the stove top was just too small. I would have left the upper and lower cabinets from stove top to window onto the left and opened the middle space as counter top, but he gets a tremendous amount of storage the way he’s done it.

Designer here. actually, the kitchen working surfaces are set to the wrong height. it is too low for him. as for the cooking alcove, he literally has to make his body fit to drop his chopped onions into the pan. also, im sure he will eventually hit his head on the tamber (fluted) finishing. those are sharp.

I've watched hundreds of similar videos by various channels over many years, and this particular apartment is one the best I've ever seen. As a Feng Shui consultant for many years, an oddly shaped floor plan can be a nightmare, but the way this is organised is superb. Attention to detail and the organisation of each area of the space is excellent, and beautifully executed. I would be happy to live in such an apartment myself.

So many beautiful and clever features of this home - the front door, the door in the master bedroom that fits perfectly in a "niche" when fully opened, the gorgeous shelf that runs from the hallway to the living room, the open bar, the TV that swivels, the stunning island/dining table, the accessibility of bathroom/powder room amd how beautiful the entire space is, the folding mirror in the masterbath that's also for privacy, and that study room that converts into a guest bedroom. I also love that the owner chose a Murphy bed that is minimalist and "clean". One can sense that even a simplistic Murphy bed was well thought of. Really stunning design 👏👏👏

What im mostly amazed about this, is the lighting and the distribution of the place. Impecable. The only thing I would change is the height in the kitchen, he seems very tall and the table to eat which doubles as a countertop to prepare food seems really low.. Im 1,80m and something that we did when we renovated the kitchen was to raise everything 10cm, is not a huge difference but it did make an impact and reduce all the back pain I use to got when cooking.

stunning apartment! every single detail represents him. I love how he hid the A/C unit which are always an eyesore. Absolutely LOVE it! I don't even know him but then space looks like him and vice versa. Wonderful!! My only challenge is this space is as a person who cooks a lot, I HAVE to have working space next to the stove. Currently he has too many twists in order to use the counter/working area/table behind him. I would have given myself counter space next to the stove. Besides that everything is absolutely perfect and he seems like a cool guy too !

It's a great layout for the unique shape of this home. Thoughtfully planned and full of creative solutions. Entrance is at the narrow side and your sense of space nicely expands as you get into the living room. The entrance space is transitory, so you don't really need too much space anyway. I appreciate that the space is at the same time masculine and homey - not overly easy to achieve. Perhaps a couple of things could have been better if done differently, but I don't mind them and this is a beautiful, good feeling space. Congrats!

Wow…watching this video brings back memories. My wife and I bought and did a gut renovation to 03-03 78 Moh Guan Terrace as newlyweds back in 2010-2011. The pizza shape and deciding where to locate kitchen/bedrooms/bathrooms was definitely a challenge. We still have great memories and our unit was profiled in Cubes back in the day before KZbin was a form of real estate/design content 😂

Beautiful. The "tech industry" must pay very well ;o) Who were the architect and designer? Do the balcony windows fold open too? I would want it to be open and a lower wall so you could see out better. Otherwise it's just about perfect. What would something like this cost in Singapore? Thanks!

This apartment seems much more substantial than many of the units featured on the channel. Don’t get me wrong; I’ve never watched a video and thought the project seemed somehow incomplete…it’s just that this one has a different “feel” to it. It is a truly alluring place.

Beautiful! Masculine but so tastefully done that I don’t think I’d miss things that are typically considered feminine. Truly one of the most unique and dynamic designs I’ve ever seen. It must be a joy to live in such an interesting home. Well done.

Beautiful space! Loving the materials used, layout and the cozy vibe! Perfect when you are alone or bringing in guests! The open shelving exposing the original wall is just awesome! I have always loved the idea of using wood slat panelling to hide storage spaces, which I believe added more functionality and character to the space. Not sure though if it's just the video angle that caused the wood panelling to look like the doors not being flushed when closed and the wood slats not to seamlessly line up. Nonetheless, still an amazing space! Kudos!
