Thanks for honoring my request to post the whole video! This video brings back such great memories...I can actually hear myself saying ‘play what would you say!’ at 11:30-11:31...the video brings such joy and tears to that day...I never forgot that day...My girlfriend Laura and I got to the stage extra early to get a spot at the foot of the stage to the left of its stairs... Unbelievable! It’s exactly as I have always remembered it. They actually played earlier on the big stage, and there was a schedule posted on that little Whale stage that said ‘Dave Matthews & Friends - 7:30pm’. So I made sure I was right there like an hour early. Dave’s golf cart stopped because I was blocking its path to the stairs to that stage and the driver asked me to move so that he could get Dave to the stairs. Dave grinned at me when he got out and walked past me exiting the cart and walking past me to go up the stairs. Then LeRoi appeared out of nowhere standing across from me from the path I cleared out. Boyd was at the back of the stage but like toward the tail of the whale sitting with his arms around a chick. What’s funny is that the only reason I knew that was because someone in the audience shouted ‘Hey Boyd’ and we all looked at saw what he was up to. The video actually captured that moment, you can hear them shouting it and Dave and Stefan looking toward the back during Crash Into Me. This is crazy! I’m speechless that this video exists! I had no idea they were playing actual songs like raven and crash into me...I thought it was all gibberish jamming...Under the Table had been out for almost a year...we never heard Raven and Crash and Blue Water before! Thanks agsin for posting! I have only missed one tour (2000) since that day! I still go every year to multiple shows! The morning rises and a lifetime’s really passed you by! -Dennis John Tylka (dennist41)

I never knew a harmonica player could impress me like the song at the end. I always thought, “you’re just sliding it around while sucking and blowing, no real talent” But dang that was gold.

Anyone know what the black crowes comment was about?
@johntylka54025 жыл бұрын
The Black Crowes were the last band to play the HORDE show on the main big stage of the auditorium. They were the headliner...my HORDE ticket stub actually shows The Black Crowes as the headline in all caps as the main act. Believe it or not, ‘Dave Matthews’ is also on the ticket in small print below them along with Blues Traveler. It’s my most prized DMB ticket stub. DMB played the big stage earlier that afternoon. Popper was telling us all that the Crowes were getting ready to play and he wanted everyone to go watch them...he didn’t want to deprive the band of an audience. If I remember correctly, Blues Traveler actually founded and started the HORDE festival. I will say that when I got to that little Whale stage an hour early to get a spot at the edge of the stage to watch ‘Dave Matthews and Friends’ (as the posted schedule showed) there was hardly anyone at first, even when Dave arrived to play, but they were so awesome that concert goers eventually started flocking to the Whale stage like magnets to a fridge to catch all the commotion. It got super crowded around the stage by dusk. I think Popper got a little nervous that they could be stealing the Crowes’ thunder!
