I was scratching my head on how to use this feature on my Passat. Thanks for the info, between how can we change modes from parallel and diagonal parking? Will it only work on the left side parking?

@@hemen8524 You can park to the right too (if you are close enough to that side). If you operate your indicator to the right, the car is searching for the parking place on the right side. You can also chose bw parallel / diagonal front / diagonal back parking modes by pressing the park assist button again. This is available when your Passat has found more available parking options (it offers then on the screen).

I think right side parking will also be available.... as i have the new ford endeavour.... by default it searches for a space in left but when i put on the RIGHT SIDE INDICATOR it starts searching for space in RIGHT. please tell me is the case with the passat?

Yes, this is the same. You can select the side with the indicator. However, you have to move close to the side where you want to park, the car cannot watch over a lane.

You basically have tondrive slowly next to the parked cars and it detects. Thanks for the question
