We had this one and loved it. This one was great for a bit, about 2 years, but eventually wasn’t suctioning or sealing properly. Santa brought the hubs the newest one for Christmas.

The problem fith veggies, if you want to freeze them, is that most of them need blanching, which foesn't take a long time and it's easy to do, but it's one step more before you can freeze your veggies and have them taste great when you thaw. Thank you so much for this presentation, I have a Fresko dealer but I'm not 100% satisfied so I'm looking to swap it for a FoodSaver, and reviews like yours make all the difference for us!

This has been a massive help. I bought my new machine last week and the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. One request: can you demo the jar sealing, please? Where would we all be without you guys on youtube? Many thanks TME.

Very good video. I had gone through three and finally yours really showed how to use this because I was having a little problem with my first bag. I was pushing plastic into the channel instead of laying it on top. It did not say this in the instructions. Thank you.

We have used the ziplock type bags and have intermittent success with them not keeping their vacuum. Now we use the freezer bag rolls you showed BUT we NEVER cut to size. We cut between 50% to 60% more than needed. After the first use and you cut the bag open your only loss is the strip you cut off. We then wash and clean the bag for future use. If you cut to size it’s next to impossible to reuse, so you lose the whole bag, that’s a waste. Even cutting double the size needed is not a waste, it’s only the strip that you cut off when opening that is thrown out

Thanks Michael great idea honestly

That's a really good idea actually! I was just thinking I might not get this because I don't like the idea of ONLY being able to use THEIR brand of bags, but cleaning and reusing? That might just seal the deal for me.... no pun intended...

I'm considering a vacuum sealer to use for meal prep while we are on long trips in our camper van. The thought is to prepare soups at home, then freeze the soups and put them in our van's freezer until we use them. During winter, we have no water in our van as we are winterized, so cleaning up is more difficult as we only carry water for drinking. My question is: Could this unit be used for vacuum sealing soups and other all-in-one meals then place the bag in boiling water to cook? Are the third party rolls you recommend in the video, safe for boiling? I've been watching a ton of KZbin reviews and really enjoyed this one! Thanks!

So far liquids haven’t done well for me especially in mason jars the sealer stinks after using it for a long time. I’ve never done soups so I wouldn’t be able to give you advice I’m sorry

Hi Joe thanks for watching. Honestly they make a good machine overall. Here is a link to my food saver Playlist, I still own my 5380 but they are hard to find. Definitely get a 2 in one with the attachment it's come in handy a few times. Let me know if you have any other questions I'd be glad to help and Happy New year 🎊

The ziplock sealed bags can also be put in the freezer, not just in the refrigerator. I keep steaks sealed perfectly in the freezer using the ziplocks.

@TechMadeEzy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jorge thanks for watching I don’t think it will fit honestly, it’s tight with 25 feet
@dennispost35113 жыл бұрын
I usually buy the 50ft rolls, but I save a cardboard tube from a spent roll and transfer about 20ft to it, and that will fit in the dispenser.

Did you have a recommendation for the ziplock bags? What about the vacuum containers...where do you purchase them? Have you tried the pre-cut quart, gallon, and pint size bags from the company you are recommending to purchase in the place of the FoodSaver rolls? Thank you!

Thanks for the video but if I may make a couple of pointers... Editing makes a huge difference.. unboxing is a waste of time.. perhaps make a separate video for the unboxing. Its frustrating to watch a video on how to use something when the person making the video seems to be figuring it out as they go.
