Ah this is the zx10r all over again. It looks weird from the official photos and videos, but when we'll see nice up and close videos from reviewers and such it's going to look better. At least that's how it was for me with the current zx10r.

Nice one! So glad something new (-ish!) that isn't a dreary parallel twin retro city bike. Price seems relatively reasonable in the modern market, but I'd like to see Kawi do an RR version: track only, full system, braided hoses, track pads, revalved shock and forks. Ditching the road gubbins and emissions/safety spec would save money and allow users to have a factory spec track bike. The problem of eg GYTR R6 has been cost - you can buy an R1 for the price, but surely Kawi could give us a track bike for £10k? That said, sling a full system on this, flash the ECU and job's a goodun! Love a 600 and for most track day wobblers, a 600 is more than enough! Oh and as everyone knows, green is faster.

Hi Bob, the new Honda CBR600RR has been and still is available in Australia (just too bloody expensive!) and we have still been able to buy brand new 636’s from team green. You poms do miss out on some of the bikes we get over the years. Anyhow, nice to see it getting a refresh, just not much point of it for the streets unless you have a good relationship with your chiropractor. Although it has always been the back friendliest of the pure 600 class.

But the new one is so far out of any consumer friendly cost that it's absurdly impractical, and so, like I said be glad you get the older version because it at least is affordable.

The 636, 650r, and 600rr are the remaining middleweight I4 ssp. 650r is cheaper for close performance but if you're Aussie it's half power and the 600rr crazily costs as much as an R1. This might be a good side grade for those looking to get out of a R7 or RS660 if you don't care for the torque anymore.

Let's hope this new ZX6R doesn't have a ridiculous cost like the new 600RR. Be nice if they offered basic ZX6R versions than only KRT editions. In part so we can pick something other than green. The white colour with red rims offered in the USA looks sweet.

Trust me, the 636 does have torque .... I can cruise in 6th gear at 40 MPH, and be at 160 MPH in no time, just snatching open the throttle, no gear change (stick to 6th only) and waiting less than 15 seconds to hit 160 MPH. There is a noticeable torque bump at 8000 rpm though. I own a current 2022 ZX-6R in SE-Asia.

This retune is similar to what Suzuki did on the current Hayabusa and gsx1000 - more mild cams, altered intakes, makes the motor cleaner to get through Euro 5 shit. You might need to put the old version's cams and alter the intake tract to get the peak of the old 636.....the mid range should be meatier on this new version though.

So, for $11,300 you can get the Kawasaki ZX-6R, which I’m reading has134 HP or for only $7,000 more you can get 21 more HP in the Ducati Panigale V2. For me, who was really thinking about upgrading from an older R6 to a Panigale V2 next year it’s a no brainer. I’ll take the Kawi, change out the exhaust and buy a Panerai.

I like how it looks, but I wish they kept an option for an analog tachometer. The TFT Is cool now, but in 10 years it will be very dated. I wish they made it so you could have an option so that you could choose to keep it.

NO ... 2024 ZX-6R has less power and less torque than the 2023 ZX-6R..... I own a 2022 ZX-6R and a Ninja 400 .... I will be selling my Ninja 400 and buy a 2nd 2023 model ZX-6R, before this watered down 2024 POS comes.... I do not like this new ZX-6R.... I love my current ZX-6R..... Also I am a bit of an old guy who loves my analoque display, I am no fan of the TFT display (even turned down the 2022 ZX-10R because of the TFT)

I always giggle at emissions because everybody knows that the first thing an owner is going to do is install a aftermarket exhaust and remap the ECU. That makes the bike fail the test immediately but no cop cares. I’m sick environmentalists destroying fun.

Very interesting vid & didn't see this coming. Good on Kawasaki for persevering & trying to single handedly reignite the i4 supersport class. Although it's getting heavier & less powerful so may be fighting a losing battle but an ECU flash & full system would probably correct it. Hoping Suzuki will bring back the GSXR750 too but wishful thinking I imagine.

Anything over 100hp for the streets is already overkil. Pretty sure no average rider is going to feel the difference. Besides an aftermarket exhaust would in part compensate this loss anyway.

Say what you will, but they have fully committed to their supersport range. I wonder who in their marketing department is getting behind this as it's very brave & is either very silly or very clever. Although you're right, no one will notice the difference....but they will think they can I'm sure lol. I actually prefer the 4RR as I like the idea of thrashing it senseless within the speed limit most of the time.

I'm a Kawi fan. I currently ride a Ninja 1000sx. But c'mon, this isn't a new bike. They retuned the engine for Euro5 and added LED lights. Even the quickshifter is still up-only, same as it was on the old ZX6R. It's a damn shame, really. I love the screamin inline-4 these things have. But there's nothing really new or special about it.
