I would much rather buy a truck that will last 20 years and be able to get 3 to 4 hundred thousand kilometers out of it . Here in South Africa the Hilux has a huge following and is a good vehicle However the many true Hilux owners bought the new Ford Ranger due its amazing comfort and drive ability Ford has made a huge dent in Hilux sales. Have a VW engine. VW engines are not dependable. Expect a oil consimtion of 1 liter per 1000 km which is acceptable by VW. Anddo not expect mote of 160 km and mostly very very expensive repairs. Feel so sorry for the new Ford owners.
