I think I have same barrel. I have some HAM'r videos coming. Gonna shoot loads soon. I have some Nosler Accubonds in 125 to test.

Look forward to that. I shot some Sierra TGK's, where Mr. Wilson said to grind down the tip for best COL and they shot great indeed.

@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 OOH YOU ARE READING MY MIND DAVE! I did this years ago in my 25/45 cause of OAL problems. With the HAM'r its more about gettin enough powder into the case!! I show and explain how and why!

Thank you for the video Mr. Strohmeyer, very informative. The numbers are great for a .30 cal. .223/5.56 parent case cartridge. I sight my hog rigs in at 50 yards, my thermals are 2.5" over bore, so from 25 yards to 175 yards I am no more than 1.1 inches low or 1 inches high, point and shoot all the way to 175 yards. I don't shoot for pure accuracy, only to drop hogs, and the 300 Ham'r is plenty accurate and has enough power for the task. The 125 Sierra Pro hunter and 130 Speer Hot-Core have really similar trajectory and energy numbers until you get farther out then the 125 Pro Hunter takes the lead.

I bought a sleeve of these 130's in preparation of this barrel. I have taken a few seer with it in the 300 bo and its a tough bullet. IMHO WELL suited for the extra 200 + FPS of the HAM'r.

Thanks CW. Yeah they are definitely retro bullets, but shoot well enough in this rifle.

A little surprised, with both these bullets under an inch is quite common. The 130 is a great hunting bullet!

Respectfully, I would consider replacing that front rest. I noticed most of the groups stringing horizontally, which might indicate some side to side motion in the barrel. You are an excellent shot. I think with a different front support you would see what you’re actually capable of. Love your channel. A fan.
@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho80093 ай бұрын
Yes, you are very astute in your horizontal stringing analogy suggestion. This video's shot to shot results were erratic more due to shooter error, compared to previous 300 Ham'r videos.

The 300 Ham'R duplicates and in some cases exceeds the 30-30 Winchester, which the 300 Blk can't do. No splitting hairs, it's popping skulls. My 20" Wilson Combat barrel in 300 Ham'R averages 2587 using 27.5 grains of AA1680, Starline brass, and CCI small rifle primers.

I believe the 300 Ham'rs performance capabilities because of Bill Wilson's say so and my own testing thus far, even though I have not yet tested it on game.

Great video. I really appreciate it. I'm in the process of building my AR in 300 Ham'r. I do have a question though. Do you think the wind may have affected the accuracy? I kept hearing the wind pick up on your mic and I also noticed the target moving with the wind.

Good eye. That is why I show the video in any and all conditions. When hunting I want to know where the rifle/ammo combo will hit on the target any conditions.

Does the chronograph because it's attached to the barrel affect barrel harmonics ? Also are reloading dies only available through Wilson Combat ?

It has been my experience the magnetospeed only effects point of impact, usually lower. My dies are Lee dies, I believe you can get them anywhere Lee dies are sold. Thanks for watching.

The 300 BO shines with heavy weight bullets that the Ham'r was not designed for, but with similar weight "Hunting bullets" 250-300 fps increased velocities is a huge plus for me. compared to the BO. Maybe suggest visiting the videos produced by Wilson Combat here on KZbin, showing the vast amount of testing. That is why I bought one. I have not yet taken any game with the cartridge to give anyone my own personal experience, but Bill Wilson harvesting over 900 pigs up to 300#'s, is illuminating indeed.
