Good update. Shame, you're not having much sun. Any Sun you do get on the panels at the low temps should make impressive power, Cooler hear today at last. Back to a nice 35c today. Just lovely weather now. 😉

Great update and nice buy on the car. For sure this winter the sun never comes out I actually broke my monthly low for 7 years. Now you got a car for parts you may drive that new one for years.

Great buy. Nicely done! I watched this video after seeing your 94kwh upgrade part 1, hoping this might be the second part. You actually refer to that in *this* video, saying you did a two part video on that project. But i cant find it listed here. Did it never actually get done, or get taken down for some reason?
Hi, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I got confused between your two leafs, and thought the "94kwh upgrade" video was for your older blue leaf. I did find those videos, though, and already watched them. I never considered a leaf mainly due to the range limitations. Then just the other day I learned about all the diy stuff people are doing with them and now I have a whole new perspective. Seems like these little guys have the potential to be total range beasts with an all out upgrade. Going to be looking real hard at this!

Used Nissan leafs are extremely cheap right now in my area, very tempting. Just wish there was a way to direct charge the battery with solar without an inverter/battery.

there is a way, im not sure how but people are telling me there is a way lol the 7 battery bar leafs are not very good.

My brother you crazy, "-30 and sunny." I always tells my son mother, anytime you have to begin a sentence with, minus, it's not for humans. Can I ask, how long does a house like that is expected to last? Here in the Caribbean our houses are made of mortar, blocks and steal. Ya man, I be watching to see the repairs of that Leaf car.

50 to 100 years if built right

@@GoingOffGrid101 I am looking buzzed as technically that's how long ours last but yours are made from ply board, mortar board and drywall. Man I wish our government would allow us to build our houses like yours but then again you don't have hurricanes and earthquake to deal with. We had a 5. Something earthquake in the later part of last year and is only two house fell down in the whole of Jamaica.

Have you considered a bi directional charging system for your car, chuck the other battery in it and charge it up at work on these shitty days. This is my plan but will be heating with wood.

Look into chemtrails and the ressoning why they do it. And will explain why you didn't see any sun in December and January just like in Wisconsin i didn't produce much per with my hybrid solar of and on grid system that powers my house and now charges my leaf also. I do grid tie with half my system for where i live electric is cheaper than a generator during the winter months. .

Do you have links on where you got the batteries and bms you used for your range extender battery pack you used in your 2012 leaf ? For my leaf is the same years as yours with 6 bars battery.
@GoingOffGrid1017 ай бұрын
@Offgridhomestead77 I still have not used that bms, my nissan leaf extender is without a bms I just check it after every other charge. Has not moved from balanced. But will use a bms on my next one I think. The batteries I got from junk yards.

I love what you are doing and I would like to let you know that Tesla batteries' temperature must be managed when using them and charging them. see the examples below for more details; kzbin.info/www/bejne/rorJo3SMndaKjNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZisZHiHn8l2mZo Please be careful.
