I know a lot of people say you should have gone for 19s which I do agree but with your budget they’ll do. I know alloys are expensive but when you get into the realm of 19s ps4s are around £160 a tyre rather than £100 ish for 18s.

True I get what you mean about tyre prices but honestly if you can't afford a genuine set of wheels in the right size there's no point in buying them. Alloys are an investment and resale on genuine rare wheels is alot better compared to new replica stuff (the market is weird atm though). I suppose we all start somewhere, I had BBS RS reps on my polo 10+ years ago for a few months! 😅

Definitely worth having the same tyres on the back, because if you go round a corner a bit too quick with shite tyres on the back and it slips you’ll struggle to pull it back with a front wheel drive car.

I have dare alloys on my Celica and be aware theyre good quality but they can flake easily especially from weather when it’s cold in the winter, atleast mine have. But mine are years old now.

question about tyres if it hasn’t been mentioned already i would say yes having matching tyres front and rear is important regardless of what wheel drive. You don’t want to gain confidence in the front end grip taking corners and forgetting you have budgets on the rear. You’ll end up facing the way you came 😂 don’t cheap out on brakes and tyres if possible and if you do always try to match at least.

@The OtherStuff For your question about your ps or whatever they are called tyres. Yes it is still worth it on the rear. As much as the front needs more grip than the rear because its front wheel drive, the rear still needs decent grip to go around corners, braking and overall performance. For example, if you put cheap tyres on back and expensive ones on the front your likely to slide out around roundabouts and corners as there is loess traction

Not sure if you said but are they 18s? I would have gone 19s and reduced the tyre profile to 35. The alloy is too small and the tyre profile is too big. 19s do really make a nice difference on the golfs and siroccos.

Them wheels do suit the car just needs lowering abit now to make them look fully right. Happens with most cars when you put a set of aftermarket wheels on they always look abit odd until slightly lowered. Good choice on the tyres turn traction off and fully enjoy the new power you’ve got

I reckon you should get coilovers and spacers next and then these wheels will look right, they sort of give it the same style as the original 80's scirocco. Also I would reccommend going for a dark gunmetal grey instead of black if you're gonna paint them, it will still look stealthy without hiding all the details.

Re: Tyres… You should always have the same tyres at the back as the front. You should also put your best tread tyre on the back as this will prevent your rear end from sliding out.
