Given the relative radio silence toward the end of last year in regard to 2021 limited credits and despite being $10 less per month than the wireless/streaming credits, this is great news. With regards to the Amex Business Platinum the credit won’t be UPS or FedEx credit because neither will foot the bill during the Covid peak shipping period the next 6 months. They have no reason to and both freight companies hate credit card fees especially for corporate customers. I work in the freight/logistic industry. More likely an office supplies company like you mentioned

This is going to get me to get the card soon. This combined with the other credits cancel out the annual fee in year one, even with me not valuing most of the credits fully. Then I can get the 100k sign up bonus so it's at least a $1000 positive for me in year 1. I hope they'll add something more to make it more valuable year 2, though I could also try asking for retention offers. Also, if someone is going to apply due to this credit, they should do so early enough this month to make sure they can fully use the credit.

Def call or chat in. If you don't get the result you want, HUCA. (hang up, call again). Amex has been known to be lenient in these cases (as opposed to Chase, which ALWAYS says no).

@@Don2006 😆 Advertising has new clients mixed up with old clients. Old Amex clients tend to be upper middle class to rich. New clients that are sign-up bonus chasing or fake status chasing tend to be middle class or struggling college students.

If you transfer to airline partners, you can get better value.

As a base value, they are worth 1.25 CPP because you can cash them out via the Schwab Platinum to your Schwab account at that value. But if you transfer them to airline transfer partners and use them to book business or first-class award flights, you can even get up to 5-6 CPP (obviously based on the flight and other factors). Generally, you can get 2-4 CPP. So the going rate is a conservative 2 CPP.

@@vegannomad Maybe I am doing it wrong, but I'm still not seeing high transfer rates. Most airlines are 1:1 transfer. As of now, only AeroMexico is having a 1:1.6 transfer, which is still nowhere the 5-6 CPP you described.

@@sl523 then you don't understand how these values are calculated. The transfer rate from Amex to the airline partner is irrelevant. To figure out the actual $ value (ie. CPP = cents per point), you take the cash price of the flight in question and divide it by the number of MR points needed to book the flight as an award flight instead (in the case of 1:1 transfer partners, that would mean the number of MR points needed equals the number of airline miles needed). In other words, for the sake of easy calculation, if a certain first-class flight is showing on Google Flights as costing $5000, but you can transfer 100,000 MRs to the 1:1 airline partner and book the flight as an award flight for 100,000 miles, you are getting 5 cents per point (5000/100,000). Having a bonus transfer deal only makes it easier to get outsized value, but it still is always dependent on the cash price of the flight/hotel room. Business-class round-trip flights between the US and Europe can often cost around $2K or 120,000 miles, meaning 1.6 CPP. Usually not a great deal. In contrast, first-class flights to Asia can often be had for 5-6 CPP and even more. Hope that helps :-)

Actually the 200 dollar incidental credit is still there. It is listed in the detailed benefits section online. I talked to a customer service rep and they confirmed it is still there. They did say that there are potential changes coming in the future. When I look at the advertised benefits the credit is not there. So rest assured it is still there for this year at least.
