A tip for catching the atlas moths easily: I dug up the palm trees and put them all on the same beach in a line so I didn't have to run around to find them.

After a little bit of testing and obviously a small sample size, but it seems there is a cap on mole cricket spawns. I’ve never pulled mole crickets placed weeds anything like that. I’ve always had two other spawn spots for tarantulas, tiger beetles, atlas moths, roaches, or water beetles. Getting bamboo island rids the water beetles and cutting the coconuts rids the moth so you’re back to the typical tarantulas, tiger beetle and roaches. I just run until I’ve scared two roaches off the rocks and it’s almost guaranteed a tarantula is around. If all that made sense lol

Go to someone’s island that has Daisy selling turnips for 90-91 each, then go to another persons island that is buying turnips for 400-500+ bells each, then make 1,510,000 bells off a full inventory of three rows. The other night I traveled to an island that had a smaller island in the middle of it and 5 tarantulas were constantly spawning there. You'd catch one, turn around and instantly get bit by another one. It was like the thunderdome! It also happened to be the same day as when Flick came to town so I made a TON of money that day.

If you dig holes in a 7 hole U shape, you can aggro multiple spiders, jump the holes and then they funnel in one at a time allowing you to catch multiple tarantulas without being bitten.

Jewel Beetles spawn on stumps and are worth 2,400 bells. while this isn't as good as the atlas moth and definitely isn't as good as a tarantula, it's better than the water bugs, and the stump is one less place a mole cricket can spawn

Flick actually doesn’t buy the insects for double the price, he buys them for 150% of the normal price. So for a tarantula you get 12k instead of 8k and not 16k. The same is with the fish guy

Although it may take some time, what I like to do is search for a bamboo island, clear everything including the palm trees, and farm tarantulas. It’s not as fast as it was before, but it still works and if you have nothing better to do, might as well stockpile some tarantulas.

I wanted to tell you a neat trick to catching a Tarantula. When you are slowly walking up with your net charged, he lifts his fangs. Stop and wait till he puts them back on the ground and then continue. When he lifts them again, your a little closer and it's like having a conversation with him. you repeat this until you are literally a step away and just let go of the net and let it fire. Try this and you won't get bit. Doing this only works well if a tree is not in the way of what he's doing.

I read somewhere on Reddit that the tarantula spawn spots are the same as cricket spots. Also another tip, you can drop stuff on the ground and that would despawn the crickets too. You could just plant seeds repeatedly and as soon as you hear the cricket sound stops, you replace the seed with an egg or some other item. Then you pick it up and let tarantulas spawn. I am gonna experiment with it tonight and see how it goes.

When you go to farm the Atlas Moths, you can dig a 3x3 set of holes around your tree and then you can sneak up and hug the holes without scaring the moth away!

For me last night I used a nook miles ticket and unfortunately got bamboo island.... however because there was no pond in the middle I did exactly everything as normal. Hannah Brundrett go on the animal crossing discord and find people advertising their island with Daisy selling turnips for cheap, join said islands, buy a full inventory’s worth (do the calculations) then go to someone else’s island that is buying turnips for a high price (400+ is really good) then have at it. A lot of people will be charging a crazy entry fee per trip.

I've done a bunch of tarantula and moth hunting so heres a tip from me. Make sure the island you're on is a good one. I was moth hunting on an island with a bunch of rivers and waterfalls, and it was water bug hell. It didnt help I had to climb up to catch them. It took way longer than when I was catching them in a simple pond island So if you have the nook miles tickets to spare, I suggest you look for a good island to hunt! There are also a couple of islands that dont spawn bugs *at all*, so dont waste your time and resources prepping those islands.

Here’s my theory. Don’t worry about mole crickets at all, more weeds seems to attract way more tiger beetles. If you’re on a 2 or 3 tiered/leveled island, dig holes on everything except the bottom level. Run at the wharf roaches and tiger beetles, open your inventory for a minute, and BAM I get 2 tarantulas to spawn. Just worry about the giant water beetles on the bottom level where you’ll be catching your tarantulas. Worry about mike crickets just made 50 million more of them appear, and like I said the more weeds I planted the more tiger beetles I got

I actually discovered a good method similar to this just last night. I didn't bother with preventing the mole cricket spawns, nor did I chop down the trees and still found that a lot of Atlas moths and tarantulas spawn anyway. Bamboo island is a GOLD MINE for this because there's no water for water bugs, and I don't believe spiders can spawn in those trees. LOTS of tarantula still spawn on bamboo island

Hope fully I can get it but the idea is, make a concerate area. So you could have the stage higher than your regulars ground like up on a place you have to use the ladder to get too. And then this place with chairs and on the stage there are insermints. And you could make a video about the concert if you decide to do it. You could find people and try making music in game with the insturments. While some people come and watch. I hope you do it if so thank you for ur idea

I know it'll be a while, but Summer (Northern Hemisphere) is probably going to be a terrific time to make money with NMT's as you would be able to find Goliath Beetles which sell for 8000 Bells (the same price as what the Scorpion will be at that time). July and August are even crazier with various bugs spawning on Coconut trees that sell for 12000 Bells. Keep this in mind when June starts.

Just a tip for y’all for catching tarantulas, I make them chase me while I run away holding the B button, turn around quickly and catch them like wasps. You can outrun the tarantula if you have a good path

Pro tip guys: instead of bringing the actual tools to the island, just bring tree branches instead. This way you can optimize your inventory on the island rather than having to prepare in advance. Seeing as some tools require various wood though, I like to bring a shovel, axe, ladder, vaulting pole,and tree branches. With the island being able to provide iron nuggets, that should be plenty for whatever island you encounter.

A warning: bamboo island is the best island as you can do the tarantula method same as before. However, it’s very easy to break your axe, and you’re unlikely to get enough wood to improve one from the pineapple trees. So make sure to have it on full or bring wood

Tarantulas cant spawn on weeds, unlike tiger beetles. So anywhere a tarantula can spawn, so can a mole cricket

@@jeremyloveskiwi1085 just dont cover the entire island with weeds, gotta leave empty spaces for spiders to spawn. I do think planting to get rid of mole cricket is a good way to deal with them, but maybe pick some up after it's gone to ensure spiders can still spawn.

Not sure if this is is commonly shared, but if you're not equipping the net while moving around, the tarantula doesn't seem to aggro onto you. Just some extra info in case anyone doesn't know. It helps when you're running around and not necessarily being able to see them immediately. Although do note that once you equip a net near the tarantula it can aggro immediately onto you and rush you. :)

Austin John Plays did an experiment and successfully stopped most of the water bug spawns. In his experiment, he found out that the game looks at every spot 1 unit around a body of water that can be walked on. It then looks for every water unit that is 2 units away from a walkable unit, which is where the water bugs spawn. The water bugs will then move from their spawn to the closest walkable unit. He stopped most spawns by digging holes all around the water so the only possible spawns are the corners.

If your looking to farm tarantulas, strip the island for everything except for digging up the flowers, but trample or pick up the flower. Block all spawns in any top layers, as that means that you don’t have to keep your ladder. Also, the mole crickets have a limit in April, of 3. So you will always have 2 extra bug slots.

Some islands don't spawn bugs at all. Others will only spawn water insects. Make sure you see that bugs are spawning, like stinkbugs and wharf roaches, before clearing out an island.

Also and islands time locks, for when you get there. If you arrive at 2 pm and its now currently 4 am the on island spawns will be 2 pm spawns instead of 4 am spawns

I was on bamboo island a day or two ago and cleared it and tarantulas spawned perfectly. It was worth clearing other bugs that spawn, and running down the pier a few times so that going back onto the island tarantula's had spawned. Worth it in the long run :)
