Hi! Have you ever thought about driving a car without an A-pillar blocking your view in corners but with roof? I still haven't seen a video discussing this topic and many cars today although very rigid, structurally, have really thick A-Pillars that block your view to the point of posing a risk to the driver or a person. I think it would be really cool to discuss the topic, taking examples like the Chevrolet Corvair Tetsudo Concept, the Renault Trezor Concept. I would love to see your take on that topic. 👍✌️

@flacjacket3 жыл бұрын
Aston might not own it, back in the day outdated racecars were regarded as worthless and often were sold on the cheap to drivers or team members who wanted it with the manufacturers often not keeping an example for themselves. I have had the pleasure of meeting Brian Redman several times through my grandfather who is his friend and neighbor. Brian bought his 917 from Porsche in period when it was retired. He sold it in the late 90's or early 2000's for like $40k to pay some medical bills related to a crash, now it's worth like $15 million, talk about regret lol. Aston may have borrowed this car from its caretaker for promo purposes so it might not be theirs to hand off to journalists. But whoever does own it should absolutely let Henry drive it and share its beauty with the world. Don't keep your light under a bushel and all that.

nah, too heavy imo
@nametooshort10403 жыл бұрын
@@Bruno-cb5gk I completely get that! But the Vantage, as it sits, really doesn't have that much carbon in it, and Aston had to make a much heavier duty chassis for this one considering that there's no roof. Even though it was based in their modular platform, it's not truly a Vantage, meaning it's going to be heavier. I'm sure they could work it out in order to make it light enough.

Very true! He has the journalism background rather than the sensationalist background employed by “the twats”. I typically love modern design far more than classic design, but there are some exceptions. The DBR1 is a big one. It is far and away more beautiful than not only the V12 Speedster, but almost anything else. The 50's and early 60's era race cars were just so gorgeous. We've never really had another design era quite like it. It would be hard to choose between a DBR1 and a Ferrari 250 GTO.

Henry, I am disappointed that you weren't able to drive the DBR 1. It is available from Matchbox, but I truly know that that is a very poor substitute. All of that aside, the V12 Speedster is truly beautiful. Especially in that lovely shade of green. It makes the Elva look rather pedestrian and dull by comparison. This is the thing about Henry: he's one of us and shows it. He's a petrolhead, a motorhead - a fan through and through. It's like Dave Grohl and rock music. There is no distinction between the 'them' and the 'us'. The car is a mixed bag for me - I think the speedster could learn a lot from its ancestral predecessor next to it. Where the old car is all swoops and curves, deliciously moulded, the new car looks a little too complicated in its design to me. Perhaps a different colour might help? Lovely detail touches on the interior but the exterior had me wondering all through the film. Striking, yes - but not a pretty car. Sounds absolutely glorious, mind you. Ignore me - I'm thinking out loud....
