Westgate is a beast on a skateboard, and is know for high pop, eye watering speed, and big gaps. No wonder he needed a good solid cup sole!
Outfitted with suede, leather, and breathable mesh, this shoe is the perfect mix of durability and breathability (we know we know, everyone says that about their skateboard shoes...) But seriously, this shoe is gonna do the job, and you'll be hyped.
One thing that New Balance is doing differently is their insoles (or sock liners, whatever you call them). The Absorb insole is thin and lightweight, but gives you everything you need if you're gonna be hucking your carcass down big stuff like Westgate. A thin insole with a beefed up cup sole will give you everything you need to get the job done right.

I love numerics. I have the 346 mids, 379s, westgate cranberry farm 574s, 636s, two pair of 913s (westgate og model), and two pair of 1010s (tiago). Thanks for the 508 rundown. Always appreciate the latest from Levi and Shredz. Btw, Levi rips; why don't we ever see him test the shoes out?

I never would've thought New Balance could make such cool looking shoes. I just remember them for those ugly NB sneakers the old people where for extra support. I totally forgot about the NB numbering regarding skate shoes.

Bummed these are way less tech than his previous shoe, the #913. I wish I still had some of his tech Emerica shoes as well. Westgate is still a monster though.

If I skate NB I would have to skate Jake Hayes shoe. Who needs tech when you have pop through the roof🤣. The 508 looks good, very clean. The sole gives it style. Westgate could skate Crocks and look good. NB has a squad. I really stugle in low top shoes. I did just pick up some Last Resort low tops. Stay Rad.

Yo 508 is a area code for southern Massachusetts. 978 for north. The home state of Brendon Westgate.....

978 has nothing to do with westgate. 913 is his other model and the area code for Kansas City. It's probably a coincidence with the 508. Could be a choice. Still no tie in to the 978 though.

We've done some in the past! It's just hard cause sometimes the brands dont get us shoes much before the release date. But we're trying to do better at that stuff!

@@ShredzShop don't have to do it just for release hype. There are still shoes with no real or good reviews out there! Like the 508 for example. The Jake Hayes one too, the 1010 suede ones, Etnies Marana Slip or Joslin vulc etc.

@@goatmansasquatch1485 Thats weird cause I've still found some online like Osiris I just never get them when it was before they had been in hiatus similar to Fallen. Converse and Vans always made my toes bleed from my nails cause of the fox taping being thinker than comfortable. These shoes are a comfortable cupsole like Fallen without the foam inner mid-midsole and making it better for impact aborbtion too.
