Yes, Kanami is indeed an unbelievable songwriter. When I'm honest, maybe the best I've ever heard outside of the Beatles or Mozart.

For me, they satisfy the joy I got from growing up with Queen and Rush. Musicianship and variety of songwriting in the right proportions 👌

This MV was a tribute to the movie trailer of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. (Check it out and compare, it's fun to see the similarities) The 'You're a Legend' at the end was a nod to Freddie Mercury. 😎🤘

I think a real testament to their standard of quality is that if you ask different people for their top ten songs from them, you’ll get so many different songs rather than just a small set of their super hits, like you’d get for almost any other band. They cater to so many different tastes, so competently.

Many of their best songs didn't even have an MV or live Mv like : Corallium Hibana Awkward Anemone Matchless GUM Order Moratorium

It's been a while, but you may have caught the little nods to the Freddie Mercury / Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody n this video. And yes, The songwriting team of Kanami & Miku are right up there with Lennon & McCartney. They are a total Jukebox of Hits!

There are SO many amazing BAND-MAID songs you've never heard. I wish I could wipe my memory and discover them for the first time again.

Hmm, Interesting concept... I'd have to keep wiping my memory for Band Maid's sake... although there are a few things I'll be glad to not know anymore...🤔😉

Starting with the LP Just Bring It (2017), Kanami-san is the main composer while Miku-chan is the main lyricist.

I could tell from your face that same feeling many of us had 20+ songs in: I am shocked, that I am still shocked, at how every song is just so amazing and distinct!

I couldn't have said it better. One reason I check out Band-Maid reactions, even though I've heard everything they have out, is that with so many songs there are always ones I haven't listened to in awhile and by checking out a reactors video I get reminded of..."Oh yeah I'd forgotten just how good that one was." Thank you.

KR great reaction again,the crazy thing is,there are so many golden nuggets that dont have an mv or live video,,YOU,,Unfair Game,,Decided by myself,,Spirit,,İll,,to name a few,all are on YT audio only,Of thier self written songs you wont find a meh song,seriously its crazy.

Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, thrash, rock, metal, prog. All of it done flawlessly.

“Bubble” is one of many brilliant servings off the Conqueror album. It’s an album that must have taken all of their creative energy to make. I don’t think I could’ve said it any better than you. Band Maid is one of the rare, and I mean rare, creative wells that seems to never dry up. It’s not as if they found one magic formula and generate multiple songs. More like the opposite, the Maids have a seemingly endless number of musical inspirations that they use to make all these different works of art with their unique style. How excited you must be to realize how many more great songs are still ahead of you! 😃 I’ve seen all your reactions so far. Double checking your playlist, I know which bangety bang bangers lie ahead for you 🎁 “Moratorium,” live @Zepp Tokyo “The non-fiction days,” OMV Just two for your consideration

YES !!!! somebody finally recognizes the thing that's makes Band Maid a different level of music.....CONSISTENCY....sure there's a bunch of good bands....with a couple good songs....but our Maids are the Lennon/McCartney of this era.....one after another....regardless of perceived genre....banger....."po"
@sai19818 ай бұрын
If you're only 20 songs in, you have approximately 100 bangers to come. For me, this is one of their more underrated tracks, inside my overall Top 10 of their songs, but I don't see it talked about much. Other deeper cuts I love, that you might want to try: Freezer; Cross; I Can't Live Without You and Hibana.

It's even way better in person. I heard them play this in 2022 and the crowd singing "Woah-Oh Oh-Oh, Woah-Oh Oh-Oh," is just magical. If they are anywhere in Western Europe, make the trip to see them. You won't regret it.

Kanami is the primary composer of Band-Maid, although MISA and Akane will add in their own embellishments (MISA actually composed much of the song "No God" as well, although Kanami did start the composition). Miku and/or Saiki (usually Miku, but Saiki is doing quite a bit now) then write lyrics based on how the music makes them feel. With Band-Maid, music composition always comes before the lyrics, and it shows. There are a lot of bands out there who clearly start with the lyrics and end up using pretty much the same music every time, showing no creativity for decades (I'm not going to name any bands that have been around since the 1970s and 1980s who haven't done anything original in over 4 decades, but I think we know who does it).

That's what blew me away too. Not that the first song I ever hear (Domination) was so great, but that the next 10, then the next 10 after that, etc. were great as well. I was dumbstruck that a band could be that consistent.

Classic rockers to the marrow of their bones. This song never gets old to me...absolute perfection.

"Bubble" didn't used to be among my favorites, but when it started coming up on the "exercise" playlist I paid closer attention. The drums are great as you pointed out. Saiki singing over the guitar "solo" is very different and effective. The vocal intensity of the final chorus(?) 3:30 gets me every time. Thanks for the reaction!

The Band-Maid awesomeness "Bubble" is expanding across the land... and that's a good thing because, other than their incredible music, to me they represent decency and joy -- things the world can always use more of. Thx, Ross!

A rare look at Miku's now hidden away (thank goodness) Mother of Pearl Zemaitis guitar......so gorgeous! Kanami write the songs but every Maid has their input for the final cut. So though Kanami starts it, they ALL finish it as a band. All For One and One For ALL! ......and that's why they have never lost/changed a member in 1o years and counting.
@DAVID-io9nj8 ай бұрын
That leaves about 90 more songs in their catalog.I don't think you have done any of their 20+ early non band written songs yet. There might be a couple that are just okay instead of great. For more classic groovy rock try Turn Me On, Take Me Higher, The Dragon Cries, and Chemical Reaction.

Many years ago,Kanami learned how to compose music using a computer. Plus,in an interview back then she showed a folder which she said held many compositions not yet used; her goal was to write about 50 per year...not sure if that's still the case. Can there be any doubt about her genius?
