Ward doesn't prevent targeting, it only counters the effect if the ward cost isn't paid. Uncounterable spells still work.

Valgavoth ain't a joke. (I'm commenting in the deck tech portion, so my comment could age like garbage) That ward cost is VERY hard to meet. I put it into play in pioneer (not the same format but there's a lot more crap lying around) and it's very, very hard to kill. 3 non-land permanents is a very big cost, especially in legacy. Looking forward to see how this goes.

While i do think RB reanimator suffers crossfire due to UB reanimator, the GY hate being played is designed to stop 1-2 attempts i feel where as RB is designed for many more. Its more relentless.

It's easy to win with doomsday with 2 cards, you just need to play gush somehow in legacy :p Valgavoth seems like an unkillable menace indeed. Or if they do kill it it sets them back a lot or they just have a lot of tokens.

“It’s easy to do X, you just need to cheat” is a statement for sure. You also could have a 100% winrate if you shot your opponent in the leg every round and they had to drop in order to go to the hospital. There’s many reasons people don’t do that.
