Second british girl, McGowan, has an enormous stride. I didn't expect her to be able to accelerate but she did. Let this girl carefully build up some strength and she will fly.

At the moment McGowan, whilst having a super long stride, looks very ‘heavy’ even though she has a lean physique.

Your correct, believe she will improve greatly as she grows

Hopefully with extra strength she might increase cadence while maintaining stride. First place lass though has multiple gears. Impressive developments in British middle distance running, I must say.

Good race by Bekkemoen, McGowan and Belshaw. Belshaw ran a very smart race. McGowan I think she is going to improve a lot in the future. Most of them collapsed at the end of the race. It must be pretty hot there.

Belshaw looks to have good 800 finishing speed and accelerated impressively in the final straight. McGowan also looks a great future prospect. Georgia Bell and Laura Muir were both sub 3m 55s pace at t(e Olympics, so 20 secs faster.

If I was coaching Constantin I'd have her doing some 500/3x3plus sets with not so short recoveries or pulse 120 recov, speed with distance. And some 800m races for pace intensity and pace change for her 1500's.

Keely Hodgkinson got Olympic gold in the 800m and the future's looking good for Britain in women's middle distance running with gold and silver in the 1,500 here, and Phoebe Gill and Shaikira King coming through in the 800m.

That's Right Phoebe Gill is our top young middle distance runner at the moment!🎉🎉🎉
@simonwilliams5673 ай бұрын
@@colinmcdonald6632 Does that mean Keely at 22 is old? Or as a 2 time Olympic medalist (inc Gold), she doesn't qualify and you meant top young middle distance prospect? Since we have U23 championships, i've always considered anyone eligible for that to be young personally, though maybe it's 21 and under nowadays.

Phoebe Gill ran 4.05 in a mixed race , so the time is not comparable to a women's only race as we have here . Women will often run considerably faster in a mixed race although I'm sure Phoebe could easily have won this race had she entered .
