Wow I just got mines today! I can't wait to try it! How long did it last since you applied it to your tyres?
@BelLavoroAutoSpa Жыл бұрын
What's up man, I find it will last a solid month if I drive my car every day. If it doesn't rain it can go longer, but with the rain the shine will get dulled. However, the tires stay nice and black the whole time and well past 1 month.

Well, I tried to top this up after a week with Armour Tire+ and it rejected it mostly, lol. Not surprised since it’s water based and the DarkSide was still fresh. This is probably the best stuff if you’re in a rainy climate.

But dont solvent based coatings damage the tire and case premature cracking? This is why i settle for water based since my AT tires are expensive.
@BelLavoroAutoSpa Жыл бұрын
I have heard people say that but have never seen any proof. Either way my tires will run out of tread long before any dry rotting.

so how has it lasted after 3 months compared to the turtle wax and Adam's?
@BelLavoroAutoSpa Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind I keep my car parked indoors overnight. Even after a few rain storms, it is still there. Not as shiny but still a matte sheen with a deep black look. I usually rinseless wash my car or touchless so I might clean my tires every couple of months. I love this stuff. It holds up much better than TW or Adams likely because it is solvent based so it really soaks into the tires.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this in the comments. The photo you posted, while looking clean, doesn't show it looking very dark after a week to me - just the lighting? I noticed you say that the TW Hybrid Solutions one soon loses its shine but stayed dark even after a month (heard that reported elsewhere too). Was Darkside just as dark at that 1 month mark? How is it holding up right now (around 2 months)?
@BelLavoroAutoSpa2 жыл бұрын
Yea it was just the lighting in the garage. Darkside was doing really good, similar effect as with TW but as you drive more your tires get more dirty. I do like how easy it is to work with. Being solvent based instead of water based it soaks into the rubber and spreads easily. I definitely like it's freshly applied look better than these other water based ceramic dressings I've been reviewing. They are all very good though. I'll say darkside gives more of a natural clean rubber look with a satin sheen where the others have a more obvious tire shine look.
@andrewvickers44872 жыл бұрын
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa I appreciate the feedback. What's your pick between this and the TW? Does Darkside stay dark longer now that it's been around 2 months?
@BelLavoroAutoSpa2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewvickers4487 I'd probably pick Darkside. I have removed it to test another product but I honestly would have cleaned the tire and re applied it by now. If a car stays garaged often it can likely last 3 months but in most cases your tires are gonna need a good cleaning before that point.

How is it on trim? Perl seems to spot heavily after some moisture or water contact
@BelLavoroAutoSpa2 жыл бұрын
Haven't had any trim to try it on, but it should do well on textured plastics and rubber trim. On my tires it has not spotted or run off in the rain and repels water.

Not sure why use these over blackout Blackout is an amazing product as it’s a “coating” bonding into the surface and lasts long. Also wash maintenance is easier not having to worry about stripping product and cleaning properties make it a clear winner in my book Thanks for video. Seems a step up for those not wanting to pay out for blackout or like the uphill battle of maintenance 😂
@BelLavoroAutoSpa2 жыл бұрын
You got it. This is cheaper and easier to apply and re apply. Nice tire shine with decent longevity snd can use on trim as well.
@gregsullivan7408 Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried Blackout yet, but based on a few reviews, I've decided not to, because it simply doesn't look good enough, even after multiple coats. I'm a chauffeur, and I want my tyres looking glossy all the time - the most cost effective option I've found so far is to buy old fashioned solvent based silicone shine in 1 gallon containers, from a wholesaler. I apply it often.
@yashshah6328 Жыл бұрын
Blackout application is a lot like ceramic coating, which isn't the best way for everyone especially for the average DIYer also its a bit more expensive. Carpro Perl and Darkside is much cheaper and easier to apply
