Hey Jake! Big fan from Argentina! A few months ago someone asked you about the future of AI in games, and the conversion was more about things like AI Art. But what I wanted to ask you is about the potentials of language models applied to NPCs, and how they could help immersion in RPGs for example. There are two videos from the MattVidProAI channel where he tests a small technical demo called Origins. In one he follows the plot to complete the game, and in another live video he tells the characters in the game what the live chat suggests to him. It's amazing the potential this has to interact with the NPCs...

Yeah imo almost the only good thing in this 'death of truth' sort of advancement is going to be entertainment. Looking forward to the day we have programs able to, say, do what youtuber anthony vincent does and redo songs in different styles. Or the deepfake 'jim carrey in the shining' - that might be a real thing later, where you could put whatever actors in whatever roles - likely wouldn't be able to make keanu's roles lively like nick cage, but replacing nick with keanu would be wild. For gaming, it could be insane - i'm imagining two console gens from now, they might be made with this sort of ai built in, and games arent so much scripted as just assets and parameters that can be modified on your end and in run. The games can be made smaller or bigger, more or less complex, more moddable, etc - like, skyrim - maybe you focus so much on the civil war the ai asks if you want that to be the main quest, adds in some settlement sim ish stuff, and dragon stuff becomes a faction quest ish thing instead. or you download an asset pack mod and can turn nba2040 into space jam.

playing Symphony of the Night in Sibiu Transylvania Romania right now. I've always thought, Castlevania should have evolved into a dark souls like game (as far as environments and stylization) with great platforming, puzzles, shops, towns etc. I'm so disappointed this never happened. I loved castlevania 64, enjoyed lament of innocence and still need to play curse of darkness!

My introduction to the souls series was Bloodborne. Bought it because I heard a ton of hype and it was on sale for like 40 dollars while it was still relatively new. Tried to play it like 5-6 times over the course of the next year and kept quitting because I didn't get it. Felt like the game wanted something from me that I didn't want to give it. Then suddenly the game clicked, I found myself covered in blood from head to toe and it ended up being my first platinum trophy of what is 26 plats now. Little details that show off your journey can make all the difference. I'm not blaming my love for souls exclusively on that moment, but it will always stand out as one of a collection of moments that completely changed what I want out of video games.

You'd start in your first year of school. As you progress the story you also progress through the years of high school growing up along the way finishing the campaign going into college or crime, depending on whether you choose to be good or bad. Your choices would impact the school itself too. If you're good the building would look well kept and if youre bad it would become decrepit.

I'm not the one you asked but might as well ... im not hyped for either of those games Starfield is yet another Bethesda clone in a different setting the story will be mid again and so will the combat the game will come out broken as hell *again* and the moding community will have to fix the game for Bethesda *again* because that's a sacred tradition at this point since Bethesda never fixes them properly by themselves as for Spider-Man if it's not DC im not really interested in Superheroes especially after what Disney has done to Marvel i didn't hate Spider-Man 2018 but honestly never felt it was that good either

Excellent question. There's a few indy titles about like Kathy Rain, Lamplight City, Whispers of a Machine and Gemini Rue but there's also the Syberia series but yes, I would love a return of the light-hearted and weird Sierra/Lucas Arts style Point and Click Adventures with really silly ways to solve puzzles. I've yet to play the recent Monkey Island game but it's on my list.

Man, I've been playing Bloodborne for the first time and all I can think about is CASTLEVANIA. I think the way Respawn has been approaching the 3D Metroidvania genre could work so well for a new Castlevania, specially with Cal's movement/traversal in Jedi Survivor. I feel it would work really well with something like Alucard's transformations, or even a Belmont just using a whip in different ways. If we could get some Bloodborne vibes in that, I don't know, it just feels right Edit:grammar

I think it should be a higher priority of game devs working on open world games to have more things to do within the game world. Having a really large map would be great and all, but if there’s nothing to do in that land, why would I want to spend time in it? Like Grand Theft Auto V, the north side of the island, once you do the missions and get any collectibles or whatever from that area, what’s the point of ever going back? I want to see a greater variance in the things that one can do as a player in large video game worlds. Activities, mini games, collectibles, side missions, different things you actually want to experience outside of the main story, etc. I am really turned off when I play a game that has a big world, but you can’t do much with it.

What would you want to see in the sequel to Jedi Survivor? I think to keep some moments fresh, a little bit of space combat, more companions, and alternate endings will keep people talking.
