Civil wars are really rabid in CK3. I am Emperor of skandinavia and after I died and my heirs brother got Norway, the title saw at least 6 civil wars, meaning the King switched at least 6 times in just one of my lifetimes. His army could never rebel against me as they were at a consistent 300 Men. I have seen "Installed by faction" more often in Kingdom titles than inherited

weird. i almost always found it to be the opposite. Approaching lategame i often do not even bother raising my peasants as i simply stomp him with my men at arms and some merc support if needed. Creating a splinter religion and having your own free 9k Templars sure too is extremely practical
