Reslab : I think your Detective 37 would look even shaper in a newer case. I don’t think they will open the sleeve so not not damage its brittle pages. I recently purchased a golden age pedigree book in an old CGC case. I called them to see how they are presently handling reholder requests after the scandal as i did not want a down grade possibility, just a gold label and case. I was told they will not open the sleeve and would just reholder it if the case did not show damage when sent to them. I don’t understand their present approach as i thought all reholder books were fully re-evaluated, but I (actually Heritage) sent it in and I was very pleased with the new case. Well worth it for the clarity and new label

I’d resubmit that Detective #36 for sure. You may get a 1.8 or even a 2.0. It’s a great book!

That Atomic War cover is sharp, I love that style of art, thanks for introducing me to that book as is new to me. Just checked, seems there are only 4 issues in the series, 1952-53. Cheers

I would just polish the case. It’s plastic. Easy to make look perfect. No risk to your gorgeous book!

Have you ever tried plexiglass/plastic polishers on CGC cases? I've seen them do wonders on some surfaces and destroy others. Might be worth trying on an old CGC case you have laying around? Just a thought.

Maybe do a 1,000,000 top ten list. You have $1,000,000 must buy 10 books for fmv you can spend 950,000 on one book but that only leaves you $50,000 for the other nine. Or $100,000 on each. Guess it could be a $100,000 list or $500,000

On that Venus comic with the tear down the side, could it have been like that from the printer? If you look real close and the ink is right off the edge it may be a quality control issue from the printer and was printed with torn paper. It's rare but possible. How would CGC view that? I have a book that has 2 different types of paper inside. A higher grade white paper for the first 4 wraps and the inside wraps are the regular grade paper.

I was going to ask the same thing. "Printer Defect". It would seem silly for someone to tear two pages like that just for "fun". It would have to have been during the cutting process, if it was from the roll itself, it would not line up during the folding process.
