The module and lessons where I talk about the Conceptual parts of a portfolio you would definitely enjoy as it's not tied to specific software. That would be Module 1 - Lessons 1 and 2 and the entire Module 6. But unfortunately, you would have to adapt to Affinity Publisher for the rest of the lessons. So maybe it's not as good... Most of our courses are designed to be easily adaptable to other programs, but this specifically is geared towards learning the essential tools of InDesign.

I know Affinity Publisher is a common alternative to Adobe InDesign (for the one time license fee in lieu of monthly subscription). Do you know if using Publisher along side this course would still work? Both should have same basic tools, but maybe more advanced tools or features from InDesign might not be in Publisher yet. Thanks!

Hey Justin, definitely! The course focuses in the two areas of portfolio creation: Technical and Conceptual. The technical part is where we’ll dissect all the essential tools, tabs and settings in InDesign. So these lessons you’d need to adapt to Affinity Publisher. But then the conceptual part covers all of the core elements of a portfolio. We talk about it and review real examples. Each lesson then has a topic where we go in-depth into it. So all of the conceptual part you’d be able to enjoy in full as there are no software involved. My answer is yes, but please keep all of these things in mind 😄 Hopefully I could clear your question. Conheci uma escola de Design de Produtos por lá antes de cursar Arquitetura. Os professores são extremamente capacitados e eles ensinam desde o desenho à mão livre até o produto final renderizado.

Hey Emmanuel! I believe it will be worth for you. The course focuses on teaching both InDesign essential tabs and features, and also the conceptual skills to compose a portfolio. The lessons are not about one specific type of portfolio, because the idea is to equip you the tools to create any kind of architecture portfolio. Hey Lisa, we'll continue creating free youtube videos here on the channel, but AdSense isn't reliable for a niche topic like this one. So courses are a way that I can support the work I do here, to keep helping a larger audience on KZbin. If it weren't for other revenue streams, this channel wouldn't exist and so does the knowledge I share for free. Now, the course is not a generic InDesign course as you find out there but focused on portfolios and for the architect's needs. Judging someone's pricing without seeing the amount of work that went behind it is not fair. It was almost four months of full-time work to make this happen.
