There's a good reason, you just aren't seeing it. The world needs to be caught in the span of a day up on everything we the audience had 25 years to learn. The world can't rebel against the World Government if they remain ignorant so they need info we already have plus some information we hadn't learned into the mix. Another reason is Oda knew there would be some people getting into One Piece after the Live action that may end up skipping all the way to the current arc so this information helps new fans as well. Sure it sucks a bit for long time fans but it does make sense what he's doing and why

Don’t underestimate clovers importance to the story just because he’s dead remember oden had also been dead for 20 years. We know the work him and the scholars did which caused the buster call was saved by the giants and is currently in Saul’s possession who we will most likely visit during the Elbaf arc. I have a feeling that Robin is going to discover some important info when she finally reunites with Saul. At the very least we know clover knew the name of the ancient kingdom so I assume we will find that out in this arc but I’m curious as to how clover found that out in the first place maybe an old map or something exists. I just feel like there is obviously a reason we have been seeing a lot more of him recently and this reveal of him having the D only makes me feel more confident in my theory. How many arcs do you all think we have left? I’m expecting: Elbaf arc A stop at Sphinx mini arc - to get an idea about the last poneglyph since Whitebeard had to have it moved sometime after Roger saw it. Meeting with Dragon arc Cross Guild arc Final War arc - will cover Lodestar, Laughtale, Mary Geoise, and Hachinosu (I believe that Vivi will join somewhere in between the time that they leave Egghead and meeting Dragon/Sabo so the message can be passed on - either she or Yamato, but Vivi makes more sense and Yamato can just be an ally for the final war arc - as even if Vivi doesn’t get a DF, I imagine she can quickly adapt to Haki usage, thereby being viable for combat) Any thoughts on these ideas and/or provide your own thoughts that could help flesh out the ideas for each of the arcs I listed.
