My personal opinion: It's obvious VA was going to win with Bohemian Rhapsody at regionals. Also, they just started and they made it that far. I hated that Finchel kiss at nationals. They could have placed higher. Troubletones should have won S3 sectionals. I'm sorry did they think they were going to win with Gangnam style. As beautiful and heartbreaking as the tribute to Finn/Cory at nationals, they really couldn't win with those songs and choreography against Throat Explosion.

The Unitards actually should have won Season 3 Sectionals. The Beunos Aires performance was amazing. But the New Directions were definitely better than the Troubletones; even without Rachel. Troubletones didn’t have the choreography and dancing to match ND, and that’s why ND was better imo

The constant theme of judges who didn’t know anything or care at all about show choir or performing really got annoying. It might have been kind of funny once but they just kept doing it. Seriously, at competitions like this, the judges make their marks based on how in sync the group is with their choreograph, how tight the harmonies are and these judges didn’t know the first thing.

Actually as it turns out, sue actually voted for the new directions for first place and put vocal adrenaline last. It was in the season 1 finale

S1 Regionals - Vocal adrenaline killed it. New directions should've placed second. S2 Nationals - If it weren't for that kiss, ND could've placed in the top 10. S4 Sectionals - Warblers were slightly better but I wished we saw the whole ND performance without Marley passing out. S4 Regionals - Hoosierdaddies were better but ND won due to plot armor 😅 S5 Nationals - Throat explosion killed it. They deserved to win. S6 Sectionals - VA were better but their setlist were designed to mess up with the judges' head so ND would win. S6 Regionals/Nationals - Wished we saw their performance.

When New Directions literally said in Season 1: Let’s just have fun with Regionals because Sue screwed us over and we don’t actually have a real shot at it. They really didn’t realize that if they actually did their best and not do just pure heart they actually could’ve put a fight against VA. Not saying they could’ve won, but it could’ve been closer :/

TECHNICALLY, the New Directions only won 1 competition…Sectionals, Season 3. If Brittany had a 0.0 GPA then they had an ineligible member (all high school extracurricular activities require a passing GPA to participate). Season 3 Sectionals she was in the TroubleTones. I’m pretty sure the only reason Sue didn’t use this against Will (besides bad writing) was she also had Brittany on the Cheerios and would have had to give back a couple of her National Championships
