NEW DS Early Episodes - Vicky Stays at the Old House

After the conversation between Burke and Barnabas becomes heated, Vicky goes to the Old House to apologize to Barnabas. A storm makes it difficult to travel so Barnabas invites Vicky to stay in Josette's room for the night.

Vicki saying "You act as if I'll be swallowed up by the past" seems to be a foreshadowing of the 1795 flashback. Could it be Dan and the writers had it in mind this early?

I wouldn't be surprised if they did start doing the write ups for the 1795 storyline at this point in the show. His ideas about extra characters for the storyline were going to be add ons after the costume party at the old house. Dan Curtis had a lot of ideas really going for future storylines while the present one was playing out.

Hmm, doesn't like to share. Barnabas has problems! Yet, he did give Vicky a lovely vintage book, which Burke didn't want him to give her! I smell jealousy! Barnabas has a crush on Vicky, and Burke knows it. Burke dislikes Barnabas, and Barnabas dislikes, or rather loathes Burke! Burke isn't very gallant, like Barnabas is. When Vicky apologises for everyone's rude behaviour, I think Barnabas was pleased, that she came to the Old House to talk to him. Vicky is a lovely and polite girl. Barnabas really likes her a lot, and is pleased to offer her a place to stay while the storm is so bad. However, in those days it was not proper for a single woman to stay in the house of a single man, without setting tongues wagging, and ruining her reputation. I wonder if either of them was aware of that?Hmm. ~Janet in Canada

I was thinking about how VIcki fit into the whole Collins puzzle over the years and I came up with the idea that she might've been the reincarnation of Phyllis Wick. Don't know how anyone else would feel about that but it makes more sense than her being a perfect stranger to the Collinses.

No children at all. The Collins 1969 come from another branch . We 'll never know who were Victoria 's ancestors

​@@isabelfrattoni9680Elizabeth was Vicky's mother, as Alexandra Isles confirmed at a cast reunion. The name of her father was never mentioned.

@@margaretkur8161 We all thought that. And we wanted it . But it never happened. Alexandra Moltke said that Curtis saw she looked like Joan Bennet and that helped her to get the part. Joan Bennett was asked if Elizabeth was Victoria ' s mother and she said : " I don ' t know " . In the first season Vicky visits Maggie and she finds the portrait of a model , Betsy Something. Sam didn ' t remember much about the girl. Victoria Winters identity was a better story line than many others . We will never know why the writers abandoned such a good idea. We will never know who were Victoria' s parents.

​@@isabelfrattoni9680Betty Hanscombe was the name of the lady on the portrait that resembled Vicki. Those episodes with that portrait was show on Dark Shadows "The Beginning" before Barnabas.

@@tressydoll68 He’s very attractive. And the Barnabas/Victoria fan fiction is really good. In fact, I’ve been reading a fanfic series about them becoming a couple. Him courting her, and them getting engaged, married, moving in together, having kids, etc… it is, honestly, one of the best things I have ever read.

Victoria was a fascinating character. Unfortunately.. AFTER 1795, her storyline--and search for her mysterious Origins--got misdirected. Was she supposed to end up with Peter Bradford BACK in the past?🧐 I'm not so sure..
