Regarding the banning area not a whole lot of folks know about the Garnet hill/Coachella fault a sibling of the San Andreas. 1986 North Palm Springs had had a 6.0 that caused moderate to major damage

1933 experienced a devastating EQ on the Newport Inglewood Fault. So much oil drilling in that area near LB back then. (Epicenter was technically in Huntington Beach, which is about 10 miles south of LB.)

The highest magnitude the San Andreas is capable of, would not be near the end of the world. Don't owe any delusional folk an apology lol. The geologists have predicted this quake will happen, it's a matter of when, and for the past couple of months now, there's been heightened activity. No one is saying it will happen soon, but in any case, it's far from the end of the world lol.
