A cool trick you can do is to put a 3/8-16 helicoil in the bellhousing bolt hole that the LS engine doesn't use. Then you can use a short bolt to mount your dipstick tube.

You’re lucky. I’ve bought 3-4 “stock” th400 dipsticks for my fox & none were ever right so I grabbed a Jegs flexible one & it’s too short but it works lol

Allstar is usually pretty good. A lot of the stuff I sold was Allstar because the feedback on their parts were usually always good. That last minute and a half was pretty magical.

You and Deboss Garage are the reason all my electric tools are Milwaukee. Judging by the amount of Milwaukee posts in sloppy public I'm not the only one, not sure why they don't like u anymore...

Yeah that and project farm testings. You should take a look. But don’t get addicted, lol i

I'm just guessing here but I'm thinking the regional guys in the area are probably a bit jealous or jaded in some way. Matt's probably responsible for 10's of thousands in Milwaukee sales at least. I mean I even spent over a grand in tools just because of that and I'm not even done yet lol.

I think I remember something about him giving an honest review of some of their products that he didn't actually like. They didn't like his honesty.

The Dewalt ergonomics are much better IMO. But the Milwaukees tend to have a bit more power and a better overall lineup. Can't go wrong with either. I prefer 20v Dewalt and 12v Milwaukee personally.

Matt, how do you like having the lift? Do the posts and arms being there make it feel like you lost floor space, or is it totally worth it?
@SloppyMechanics2 жыл бұрын
100% worth it, if i need to work on interior alot i move to other bay, would be nice to have it it all but, it is incredible as you would expect being able to yank up and down

The Jegs wheels look good! Should send the rears out to MacFab to get beadlocked or get another pair to have done that way you have both.

are you doing any shift kits or anything with your 4l80 these days. I know one time you had a recommendation then there was the recommendation not to use the kit. thanks for the great videos!

That one was built by Cameron Powers and has some fancy good parts in it. The transgo HD2 is still pretty standard, you just don't do the relief mod from the first step.

I did the hd2 Junior kit, so far so good and it's a small kit so it's easy if you haven't done one before. Curious if others are using this one as well. Happy with it so far shifts awesome!

I used the same dipstick on my 2008 silverado, for anyone wondering it fit good just a little buried at the back of the motor. I've been trying to wrap up my don't bs me style Silverado (5.3, 78/75, triple disc high stall 4l80e). Been kind of stuck on the rear end, truck has 10 bolt 3.73 limited slip (stock), about 700 crank hp, steel driveshaft and weighs 4800lbs. I'm trying to figure out if i need to upgrade the driveshaft (i heard later model stuff is stronger?), should i go to 4.11s with the weight, and upgrade the axles? Thanks for all you do, I watch all your posts, it's much appreciated!
@angusyoungsg2 жыл бұрын
If ur planning on doing burnouts and getting ice cream just run it. Weakest spot in there will the the g80 locker. You could put a clutch type lim slip in there and would be a huge upgrade. For track use at that weight a diff swap would likely be wise but for street fun, just letter rip!
@MrMasterDin2 жыл бұрын
@@angusyoungsg Yea I want to go to the track so i should probably swap the diff, i just want to keep the 6 lug bolt pattern for the wheels. Ill look into the upgrades you mentioned as well to see if that makes more sense for me. Thanks for the response!
@angusyoungsg2 жыл бұрын
@@MrMasterDin I have an 89 with the stock 10 bolt. I put a Yukon lim slip in, chromoly pinion yoke and a gridle diff cover on it because I couldn't fine a reasonably priced 9". So far it's holding up to my turbo 5.3 just fine but it's all street driving on street tires.
