Yes please and is the flex boss and off grid version of the 18kpv?
@MyGoogleYoutubeАй бұрын
Wow, the Gridboss looks awesome! It for sure solves some issues with our upcoming 18KPV install. I really didn't want to spend the money on a 2 way transfer switch but I know having one is ideal. It looks like the Gridboss will allow you to turn off the 18kpv for either servicing or working on your PV stuff while the home power doesn't have to go down. This thing is rad :)

this is exactually a great thing. The only reason I still did a back up panel even using large inverter that can do 200 amp bipass is if im gone and the heat kicks on it will drain the batteries and/or trip the inverter. With the relays it will stop that.

Gridboss $1749 Flexboss $4199 = $5949 combined
@KeithOlbermannn2 ай бұрын
$4199 is going to be the new price of the 18KPV when the FlexBoss 21 is released, according to EG4 CEO. I assume the price for the FlexBoss would either be the current price of the 18KPV which is 4898 or higher, So you speculation of pricing is way off.

This is such an impressive improvement. I need over 12,000 on output and worried about getting one 18k or two 12k units but one grid boss with two flex boss solves that problem. Additionally, the 10kw output of the wall mount had me looking server rack batteries but now I could go one wall mount per flex boss and one grid boss with shooting for 4800-7200 watts per flex boss if I’m looking at this correctly. I have to be that larger rural home that you’re targeting with $0.17/kwh from duke with this concept

400 amp service has 2 200 amp panels. get 2 Gridbox'es and do things in a dual setup
@mwolrichАй бұрын
@@norsk54472yes. I have 400A residential service here, it’s commonly called “320A Service”, because that’s the max the meter can handle, it splits off into (2) 200A breakers, one is in the CSED with the meter with a 30 circuit sub-panel, that’s where I have my high amperage devices in (100A Tesla charger, 14-50 for Oven, etc), these would not be backed up.. the other 200A breaker runs into the house, which is where I’d install the grid-boss to replace my existing generator transfer switch, and I’d move my Enphase circuit which is currently line side connected, into one of the Smartbreaker inputs on the grid-boss, then if power is lost, the Enphase system can still power the house and charge the Flexboss21 batteries.. assuming they will implement frequency shifting to curtail micro-inverters if storage is full. I priced it out, it comes in about $2,000 less expensive than using 2 of the Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultras with 1 battery each, and Ecoflow Smart Home Panel, where the generator input has to be manually flipped on (through an interlock). This new EG4 offering is huge, when you can beat the consumer grade Ecoflow stuff in pricing
@laynenichols36812 ай бұрын
I don't see the point of this product. Only slightly better than an 18kpv in a few specs but more expensive and more pieces of equipment to install. Maybe im missing something.
@laynenichols36812 ай бұрын
Load management with the GridBoss would be one advantage I suppose.
@unpluggedtexan2 ай бұрын
@@laynenichols3681 the gridboss makes it so during install the power is only off to your house for a few hours while the gridboss is hooked up. Then the rest of the install with wiring in pv, batteries, and inverter is done while your house has power routed through the gridboss. Then you get the added benefits of all the features of the gridboss. The flexboss inverter can also utilize 21,000 watts of PV at one time (to loads plus charging batteries). That’s huge.
@kacykoelliker5817Ай бұрын
@@unpluggedtexan the specs on the PV and battery current are right up my alley. But 4000W max continuous AC output per grid line is a red flag.
@krb365Ай бұрын
I think the biggest advantage is that it eliminates the combiner boxES for the grid input and the load output, and also the transfer switch. So it’s a 3 in 1. And then, it adds smart outputs as well, so it acts as a subpanel as well. Makes the installation easier/simpler. Less wiring too.
@emilianoruiz768124 күн бұрын
better specs than 18kpv and with gridboss it simplifies the install (less $$$$$). don't need no feeder taps or anything like that.
